is that even though she will be dead in the original timeline and the Beta one, in all others she will live, and in his memory.

And with that simple truth you pointed out it becomes fairly apparent that in steins gate time travel your not really saving/rescuing anyone. Okabe doesn't have the intelligence to get that fact that all he's really done is run away from a reality/parallel universe he didn't like to one he was much happier in. Everyone he left behind in those worlds are still as fucked as they always were and Mayushi is still very dead in all those worlds.

Depressing really ain't it? in steins gate You can't save your reality, all you can do is abandon it. And in okabe's case he's blissfully ignorant of this and really does think he's prevailed against SERN and saved Mayushi.

Simple as that, the only thing that will likely change is that he will still only remember all that time in other lines with Kurisu. But saving her life, if you ask me, is worth losing that chance, that actually might come eventually later on.

This thought should have easly crossed his mind, it was pretty damn obvious imo:- "On july 28th I came to see professor whats-his-name's talk. I then heard a noise on the roof........ah CRAP!!! It was me and whats her name that made that noise, this me was present when all this shit began (In ep 1). I'm just repeating what I did before, the outcome will be the same, shit, shit, shit!

Also his encounter with Kurisu, did he actually not think she was going to not be alive when he's in the past were she is very much alive? Does he even stop to think "This ain't the kurisu that I knew in the alpha world line, it won't go down well if my feelings for the other Kurisu start getting involved." To sum it up Okabe does not make a good time traveler.

If I understand what future Okabe was saying correctly Kurisu's death has to be faked. She must be in the same postion, in a pool of blood and the past Okabe has to see her and believe she is dead. This plan seems to ignore the age old detail that in ever attempt to stop Mayuri's deaths it wasn't possible to prevent the attack that led to her death. Unless what is going to supposingly happen is she'll have her death faked, daddy will see it and will go off his own way and supposingly preventing the events leading to her death? Ain't there the problem that there are 2 Okabe's running around in that period already? Doesn't that mean the 3rd Okabe can't be seen and he has to deceive both his temporal varients?

Have to post this cuz I just can't stop laughing and was only lurking and getting ready to sleep.
Okabe of the past needs to believe that Kurisu is dead, same for the world.
That means Okabe of the future will also think that way in HER timeline, not his.

It is possible that Okabe of the mid-future will have to take Kurisu to mid-future, allowing the far future-okabe to stop being obsessive.

Well it sux to be him anyways.

Also cut him some slack, the "his" kurisu is dead, even I would not believe it at first, The bigger problem is how is he going to fake her death ?
I say, stun her, spill some paint or something red around, he believes she is dead, then take her away to safety, rape, have her give birth to a mini Okabe no, must resist ...

Even though I seriously love Kurisu and am annoyed as hell by Mayushi... Kurisu needs to stay dead *sigh* Will make for a much more satisfying ending!

Kurisu for some reason or another must remain alive for starters. The reason why this didn't result in the steins gate world line when Okabe changed time with his first dmail was because SERN possessed the record of his time travel event (Whatever), which results in a SERN dominated world (Alpha world line). Though that paper on time travel that Kurisu wrote must still been about too even in the alpha world, it's presence would also prevent the steins gate world.

Kurisu is like Mayuri in the alpha world line apprently, her deaths cannot be prevented, ect. However future Okabe said that if she appears dead in the same way she always has done in the beta world and the past Okabe see's her and believes she is dead this will cheat the attractor field thingy (AKA the certain death law. I'd call it predestiny tbh). So if Okabe can pull that off and destory Kurisu's time machine paper (And also avoid making any entry in SERN's time travel datebase) it will result in a world where there is no time machine arms race which resulted in world war 3 or a world where SERN controls everything, where Mayushi and Kurisu will be able to both remain alive.

The real question is how far does Kurisu's death need to be played out? Will she have to abandon her name and identity for the rest of her life? Or in the instant she cheats the attractor field will the steins gate world appear and it will no longer be necessary for such a deception any longer.

Personally the way I see it if time travel were possible then their world war 3 cannot be stopped only delayed perhaps. If it's possible then someone else will develope it eventually, only a matter of time =P

Ok then, then what would cause Okabe or Mayushi to leap 70,000,000 years into the past / Okabe jumping into the Hadron Collider, ep 6 in the anime i heard Okabe calling it a Event Horizon before being sucked in, what does a Event Horizon do to you?

I think that what we saw with Mayushi is actually Steins Gate malfunction.
Causing everything to collapse, more or less that was a metaphor of him trying endlessly without seeking help. Mayushi has accepted her fate.

From what I gather, there are three Okabes throughout all the timelines:
1. The one who stabs Kurisu (Present Okabe)
2. The one who finds her dead (and who will eventually send the first D-Mail to change the fate of the world – Past Okabe)
3. Future Okabe (who sends Suzuha back in time to prevent it all from happening).

Future Okabe has no other role than informing Present Okabe about what went wrong and what must be done to fix it. After all, he himself doesn't go back in time, probably because that would create a massive time paradox.

The Past Okabe has no knowledge of all this, hence why he needs to be deceived in order to save Kurisu's life.

The Present Okabe has all the memories of the past and future (except the one from the beta timeline, as he went back in time before he could obtain those). Since he learned that he is the one responsible for Kurisu's death, he went back in time physically and thus erased him from the beta timeline once again, leaving only Past Okabe (and Kurisu alive). He now has to repeat the events leading up to her death, with the only difference that he now has to find a way to make it appear as if he's dead, without actually killing her. This will fool the only other Okabe, the Past one, into thinking that she's dead. Only thing left for Present Okabe to do is get rid of the Professor's paper (or even the man himself). In the end, there will still only be two Okabes left: Past and Present.

The only problem I see here is, how will he manage to prevent being detected by Past Okabe after it's all over, so that a time paradox doesn't occur? And if the Past Okabe still sends his D-Mail, how will that allow Present Okabe to enter Steins Gate?

That is simple, since only the present Okabe can enter it, here is why:

In case you forget the paradox that will still occur, if the past Okabe will be decieved into thinking that Kurisu is dead, and they prevented the D-Mail from getting in the SERNs Database. The Future Okabe will be erased along with the future he is in (Timeline will split).

The past Okabe will think that Makise Kurisu is dead, and very likely the world itself will believe that as well. That leaves only the matter of Kurisu's papers her father stole from her to be destroyed. That however leaves SERN on top research group list that works on the time machine.

Without Okabe's device SERN will likely not achieve their goal however.

The present Okabe will have no place to go to, since he is the only one with the ability to remember the past and the future actively, he will either be moved to the Steins Gate or his entire memory will be reset and re-written to fit the perfect world Okabe fought so hard to protect and preserve, which may or may not include Makise Kurisu as his girlfriend.

The second person that can possibly enter Steins Gate is the faked Makise Kurisu, I use the term Faked because her death is going to be faked so that the world itself believes that she is dead. Alas she will have to be moved, possibly with Okabe into the Stains Gate World. There the two will likely remember each other and live happily ever after. Or not, since Kurisu is a tsun tsun she might make many funny faces like the one from a few eps ago, can't forget that face, it was seriously funny

What are you talking about that present Okabe (one who stabbed Kurisu) went back in time and physically and erased him from the beta timeline? No such thing, are you watching the same episode we were? If you want to convince me your going to have to point out the when and where this happend.

There are now 4 Okabe's infact

1: Past Okabe who went to hear the talk
2: Past Okabe No. 2 who stabbed Kurisu
3: Present Okabe who's now going to trick his past self
4: Future Okabe who devised the plan to reach Steins Gate

The present Okabe will have to avoid detection from both his past selves and logically he needs to trick both Okabe's No 1 and 2 in order to bring about Steins gate. It's the simplist method without additional time travel involved. Meet Kurisu even further in the past, convince her of Okabe's story and that it's all true. Provide her some form of body armor to help ward off the blow from the knife and a packet of transfusion blood. Hide both under her cloths and she could be in business, though it might be a good idea to do another trip to switch her fathers knife with a fake one. If he could pull off all that then this could actually work. And since it's Okabe were talking about his past self who stabbed her would never notice the concealed armor of packet of blood =P
 It's not impossible though (However this would end up being horribly complex compared to the method I just mentioned above.) for Okabe to jump back to when he arrived with Future girl and leave himself a message not to involve himself and thus avoid stabbing Kurisu. In normal time travel this wouldn't work, it's a paradox, to possess the knowledge that he killed her he needed to go through the event and this change would leave leave his past self without that info and by extension he no longer has it either. However he's got his reading steiner so that lets him recall events even if he nullifys em. this is getting a bit complex.... 

There is another problem with stopping himself from stabbing her, the attraction field will just get someone else to kill her and whats worse is that other variables in the event might change as well since we know Mayushi died to different weapons aimed by different people and the locations of her deaths kept changing too. Far easier to deal with a scenario that you already know all the details, so it makes no sense to prevent past okabe stabbing her.

I think Okabe shouldn't be the one stopping the events and deceiving and they should go back in time far more, the only way to stop Kurisu from dying is including her in the plan on deceiving Past Okabe.
