OK i'm playing this game for a while now, and I'm liking it so far, quite a lot too, battle system is a lot better than in the first game, no friendly fire, although both it's bad and good, I'm playing a Warrior 2 hander so I have Bethany in my party, and maker knows she is super awesome as a mage, Carver was an asshole but an honest one at least, a lot of quests line up all the time, had to do a lot of them before moving my story ahead, Visual aspect of the game is really good, and a good news is that I have yet to encounter a crash if at all, the entire engine is working brilliantly, advice for everyone, you don want all abilities cuz you have to sacrifice upgrades for them, and upgrades DO count actually.

(click to show/hide)Depending how you play the game your sibling either dies or is taken away, very possible that you don't meet up anymore, for instance if you take Carver/Bethany to the deep roads, they will die, since I could not bear having Bethany dead, cuz it was so damn painful for some reason, I left her only to be taken away to the circle, she still is show in the party roster but all grey and unaccountable, I will miss the girl, very very much, at least she is alive, but she was my healer and serious damager, in fact she rarely healed cuz her prime spells were pretty much wiping floor with mobs and boss fights weren't as annoying :P

Bethany, you will be missed

Got Dragon Age 2 a few days back, I'm not sure if I like it better than origins yet or not. Regardless, it's fun :P

the difficulty level is imo way to low - i had to switch to nightmare to get my lovely friendly fire back. (i mean seriously - a giant fucking firestorm and you hit not even a single friend?) it might be that i'm just really good at exploiting stuff though :P
(click to show/hide)for example if you skill merrills bloodmage skills and sustained abilities without investing even a single point in her willpower attribute - and instead putting everything in magic and constitution: around lvl14 you get a MONSTER - she has more HP than my tank, sustained abilities eat up all her mana but she's still casting like crazy thanks to a 1:8 health -> mana convert ratio (thanks to items that add to that).
i'm currently in act 3 and have to admit that i'm slightly disappointed by the story - not that the story is bad, but because there is nothing in sight from the big announcements that your actions would greatly influence the outcome. i've played most of the main quests twice siding with a different faction only to reach exactly the same plot point - just with some names switched out. (click to show/hide)why do they still let me side with the templars at the start of Act 3 even though i likely killed 20+ of them by that time, siding with the mages in every occasion? - even got an achievement for that already!i've still hope for the (click to show/hide)idol you found in the deeproads - perhaps a good boss will come out of it

another thing that bugs me is the combat. everything is fine as long as you only play a single char, but the second you need to control the whole group it becomes a nightmare - its like tending to a group of 6 year old running away in every direction. running into flame walls, moving in front of the enemy as a rogue, not assisting properly. in combination with the generally pretty low hp of every mob (quantity instead of quality -.- might + cleave + assail + bravery in a group of 8 enemies = instant death for some targets) this results in the need to pause the game every few seconds to move a dud or select a new target.


overall it's a good game though - just not as epic as i imagined.


(click to show/hide)you can actually take bethany to the deeproads, she'll still be unavailable later on, but if you have anders with you he opens up a third path other than death or circle: gray warden.

her DPS was kick ass, and I only invested int heal spell with upgrade and basic magic spells like fireball, winters grasp, just that tree, she was like, WTF GIRL ??? YOU KILLED EM ALL BEFORE I GOT TO THEM ??? GIMME A BREAK !!!
