i know, that is why I cry :(

damn it, well, Anders is a good healer, i'll just have to make use of him for the time being.

I like the story more, and the focus on politics of all the different races rather than the OMGTHEYSOEVIL darkspawn.

I think the gameplay is quite dumbed-down, though.  In dragon age 1 you could create an ineffective party with bad stat/skill planning, I feel that in DA2 you could take literally any skill point you want and wind up with a decent char.

Okay so I played the game too... actually still playing it. The story is lovely, as BioWare made me used to with their nice games. Few things I noticed:
- difficulty is too low. very low. on "normal" I didn't even have to use a single health potion.
- rogue class is ... whoa... I mean, you can use them as tanks. Especially a double-weapon wielder with the Twin Fangs skill. It can handle any opponent head-on.
- night/day thing is awesome.
- is it just me, or with every new game BioWare releases there are more girls to choose from in your party? I think it was 2 in the first NWN game, and now they're more than half of the party options. [not that it bothers me... actually I like it].
- I miss the days when sword types came in more than 2 or 3 varieties.
- no DnD rules made the game mechanics A LOT simpler (I miss the days when leveling up would take more than 5 or 6 clicks and 30seconds of my time)

Overall, a pretty good game. Not better than the first Dragon Age. Not better than NWN or NWN2.

i finished the game today and was horribly disappointed by the last act.
(click to show/hide)the first two acts handled themselves well pretending your actions made a difference (in the reality of the game flow they didn't because everything converged at least after every third quest step) but in act three it was getting ridiculous: i supported the mages throughout the game, declared at the start of act 3 publicly that i support the mages and want meredith gone - yet whenever i met an apostate in a quest they are fucking screaming "we know you work for meredith, DIE!" - otherwise the story wouldn't "progress" - so i have to butcher them.

Anders blowing up the chapel with magic ion beams was an epic jaw-drop moment if you had helped him in it - until you realize after a replay that he will do it regardless of whether or not you help him, so it's just another obvious vehicle to get rid of the peaceful solution and catapult the story from no-where into its endgame.

and in the end you have to fight both the high commander and the head enchanter, which was so obviously made up, out of flow, only to satisfy the endboss need.
Bioware seems to suck at endboss' the DA1 endboss was horrible too.

i mean what the heck is the premise of the game: in DA1 you singlehandedly stopped a blight while in DA2 you watched while a city is thrown into chaos?! - especially considering the throwing part happened in the last few hours of the game it's more than disappointing.did someone count the number of locations used in the game? especially the interiors where horribly repeating.

it's still a game i really enjoyed - not reaching the heights of KotOR though :(
