You mean it's only limited by your own skill to script the AI commands?  ;D

Isn't that part of the skill set required in that world setting. ^^

What about a game such as X3? It creates a world limited by what the technology in that setting allows. The only other limitation being on the family side. Is that an RPG?

Is character growth focused on your avatar or the ship or both? If you can only advance the ship and the combat plays like a space shooter then no, it's a space sim.

Tried the demo and......
Demo is just.... demo.
Interesting, very interesting.
Will wait for the full version in March to see if it's worth.

So i played the Demo.

Short review:
Full Voicing is awesome, i always play females cuz if I have to play a game and I can chose gender i prefer to watch a nice butt than a hairy back :P Voicing is pretty good, a few questions for bioWare for putting Flemmeth in, I killed her, so wil lI see Morrigan in the full version after loading the saved game ? strange, or maybe Flemmeth didn't die, and it's just what I saw ? her new look is awesome, so badass :D and her remarks are awesome :D always liked her heheh.
Visually the game improved greatly, MObs (Mobile objects) have a much better animation than in the first game, or in ME2 for that matter, very well done, the graining that I could see outside of the focus center of the scenes wasn't an eyesore cancer like in first game or in ME1/2 (though in ME2 it was considerably better done) the combat system is more interesting, but the combos for mages should auto break when I cast the spell, that needs fixing, what annoyed me in the first game is back and I don't like it, there is far too much blood splatter on the characters, especially the face area, at the very least remove the blood on face while in cutscenes.

Body Building is interesting, Finally the bodies are properly done, the person that designed them should receive an A+ on biology heheh, Although breasts seem quite big, but at least smiles don't freak me out anymore, still quite fake, the first thing I actually did notice is the clear color of the eyes characters have, up till ow you did chose eye color but it was terribly done, and you could barely see them in game, now you can actually see the eyes, I get the feeling it will be important in this game, Flemmeth's eyes were so awesomely kickass :)

The Demo has a lot of restrictions. We have yet to see the final product, also the Demo doesn't really support DX11, at least not on high resolutions, it instantly closed the game until i changed it back to DX9, very odd, but that is just the demo.

By Canon we already know that the main hero should be a male refugee, I kinda hate when this happens in games, the company kind of hints that you should be a male, so stereotypical, and the pirate girl was quite interesting to say the least, BiSexual isn't bad I think :)

The Game got me interested enough to buy it, but I will wait a few weeks until possible patches come out, don't want to buy a game and go raging on it, also, I hope they stop with the silly protection that you need to have your game disk in the drive to play, I so hate that.

Is character growth focused on your avatar or the ship or both? If you can only advance the ship and the combat plays like a space shooter then no, it's a space sim.

Your character growth is actually more important than any ship you pilot. Your relation to the original 5 alien races + humans in the Terran Conflict, as well as the reputation that you have to build up is a much grander task than to upgrade your ship. Hell, once I got further in game there was less and less piloting my own ship and shooting enemies. Most of the time I spent was on my battleship while directing both my merchant fleet, my mining operations, my mining stations and the transports that are servicing them and my scouting ships that dropped satellites in each system.

It didn't feel like space sim, nor RPG, but as some obscure first person SimCity in space. Anyway to your question, your avatar is always the to gain reputation and relations to others, your ships are something you easily send to HQ to scrap, just so you can get blueprints to make more of them yourself.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

back to the topic:
played the demo today and have to admit that i was quite disappointed. at least from the tiny bit the demo shows.
the UI is ok aside from an annoyingly high number of layers (yay consoles!) but the gameplay/story really feels like on rails. the different dialog choices seem to make no difference whatsoever and that the "event" that happens before "the dragon" arrives is based on which class you choose just sucks balls big time (and that's 20minutes into the game!).

From what I've heard about the game, it sounded to me that the story would be less on rails than origins, origins gave you many starting points but only like 2 ending points, while this one will be the opposite.

Can't say much about the gameplay, though.  I'll wait for a final build.

Did anyone notice how Isabelle was leaping through the battlefield like a grasshopper ? I haven't played rogue class yet, but if that is how it is going to be, I will have tons of fun in the full game :)

I play warrior class mostly, only because I like tanking enemies myself. I didn't really utilize the switching between characters during the demo only because there was no real point, everything was too easy. Hopefully the game won't be as easy as the demo was and will show a large variety of enemies.
There's nothing here, because I'm too lazy to put something here.

Liking the rogue maneuvering capabilities. That's nice.

Not liking mage spell choices, they are so dull. Seen a thousand times before.

Warrior capabilities seemed boring too.

Interesting choice on defense and cunning giving rogue a nice 50% defense.

Oh yeah, the game is level scaling. Hating it.

Is this the ONLY prologue? Meaning no more backstories?

Because we can!

it looks like it, but if it's actually going to lead us to more endings then i don't mind, and if I get to see Morrigan instead of Flameth if I killed Flameth in DA:O even more interesting, I mean, come on, Flameth didn't even look good in the first game, and putting aside her age, she actually could be hot, if she wasn't old that is.

That point where we see Flemeth is before you get to kill her in DA. So doesn't matter what you did in DA.
Conserning her looks she could turn into anyone or anything she wanted to.

But I was disappointed at Flemeth's talking style, where is the maddness and all the quirks?

Because we can!

perhaps the moment at hand was not good for her sarcasm and irony at all, as we all know, Flemeth knows more than she even allows you to think you know lol, sounds cryptic, I'm pretty sure she made Morrigan think the way she did with the grimoire back then in order to make her get it on with Alastair, for all we know, she could be the greatest mage of all time, or just an old lady wit ha few tricks up her sleeve, which ever she is, she is definitely a formidable person.

I have to admit the demo was a little disappointing, however that's not going to stop me from picking up the game on day one.  None of the Bioware games that have interested me previously have let me down, so they've earned my trust.  Besides, a locked down demo can't really be expected to give proper justice to a big RPG like this.

Dragon Age 1 was the funnest shit EVER with 2 handed warrior.  Late game you just sent crowds flying in all directions, and you were an unkillable juggernaut, to boot.  It was SO fun.

yeah it was fun, ob the bright side, when you rig yourself up, even as a mage, not a single enemy can approach you :D Rogues were most disadvantaged class in the game, looks like tables have finally turned in their favor, in the demo, I did not receive a single hit other than the fight with the ogre :)
