I played the demo a few days ago. I was disappointed. Played as both a rogue and a mage. Both bored me. Perhaps its because the difficulty was fixed to normal. However, even on the ogre, when i didn't realize I had potions to use, it was boring.

did you expect a demo to be hard ?
I think they designed it this way so we can just enjoy the new stuff and a fresh design on the game, see how things look, the actual game might be interesting with these ideas.

Fuck the blood mage. I was so exited to be an all powerful evil blood mage. then I find out the spells are not nearly as cool as they should be and I have to turn the ability on to do it, then turn it off so I don't kill myself casting other spells.

I had great success with my rouge elven archer though. people complain about the rouge but I wasn't forced to have some jerkwad tag along just to open locked doors and chests.  and with a few melee fighter in front of me I almost never took any serious damage.

When life gives you lemons, you clone those lemons and make super lemons.

I don't think rogues worked melee unless you controlled them 95% of the time personally, otherwise they would get rocked.

As archers you could set them up to debuff a bit, so they weren't COMPLETELY useless, but I'd still prefer any other class over them.

I only had the bard with me, the assassin was pansy, my own rogue, well, no amount of tactic slots would suffice it.

Playing as warrior, balance out stats, become a real killer with a bow and dual wields.

Final Blow with a bow on a warrior got pretty outrageous amounts of damage.

I upped my hp and mana, disabled cooldown on fireball, made swarm super fast, gave myself skills from other classes (like any weapon I want, heavy armors, weapon skills, lockpicking, stealth, blah blah), used some custom spell mods, gave myself 999 backpack slots, used a mod that made it so blood magic wouldn't come off after all the mobs were killed, used the maintainable buffs to get hp or energy from corpses, etc...

And anyways, I liked the lore and visual effects of the blood mage more than anything. But, I made them epic.

No, but I didn't expect it to be so "blah".

well it is bland, and I was quite dissapointed in 2h Warior, I was like, WTF HAX !

Whirlwind was like OMFG !!!!!!!!!!

Thats HAX!

Whirlwind
if something survived = Scythe
if still some survivors = Mighty Blow
tis insane !!!!!!!!
tis madness !!!!!
tis SPARTA !!!!!!

seriously, I loved playing a Mage in DA:O, it was harder than other classes, but when you wanted to be a wtf PWNZOR you could even do shitloads of damage

but still yeah, rogue and 2h warior were simply overpowered, and sems like it doesn't change, I like Mages skills in DA2 much better, cone of cold is fun, firestorm is fun, fireball is fun, you can still damage enemies with melee since your DPS as a Mage even in melee is dictated my Magic stat instead of strength, and it's even interesting, but I dare say so myself, they should make use of skill automatically break the combo attacks, sometimes it takes several clicks before it activates the skill :P (or mash buttons :P)

i would especially like to know if Bethany can be a companion past the first chapter - my class-choice depends on it!

That's because the Shops in Europe tend to release new games (and movies) on Fridays just before the weekend, while in USA it is released in the beginning of the week on Monday or Tuesday.

This is common knowledge, yet it still pisses off people in Europe (for a good reason I guess).

In a few years when games are all sold over Steam and similar distributors, hopefully we can all have the same release day.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

indeed, though I plan on being Rogue first, might be a warior on second run.

I liked what I did with her stats and skills in the demo, she was a great asset, and every battle was a breeze.

Personally I hate being a healer, although it's thrilling to have your peeps up in hard battles, but I prefer dealing damage, as much as possible, if not more :)

god dammit, started playing new game in DAO and all my DLC is ... there and enabled, but inoperable :P

I started as Warrior again. Kinda irritating that I had to go through the entire part that was in the demo again. I didn't realize the choices made there made any real impact on the story itself. I figure they would give you a skip option to skip the prologue.

DX11 runs good enough to be playable, but I still got choppiness. I switched back to DX9 and it ran smoother. I run the geforce 460 with the beta drivers from Nvidia. Hopefully the final version of the new drivers provides enough better support than the beta version.

lol

You have a 460 and you have to use DX9?! I seriously get the feeling that BW really only slapped something together. You should be easily playing DA2 on max settings with a 460 (I also strongly believe that you have quite a PC when a 460 is running in it).

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.
