Players played themselves and had a sheet of items they had and ones that were used or broken or scratched up were crossed out. They also had statuses and attributes.

It wasn't fantasy at all, but more realistic.

I'm fine with things NOT being realistic. Medieval fantasy is fine, but so is sci-fi, a crossover is definitely very much ok. I find overly realistic settings somewhat boring, unless they include elder things from the abyss between the stars and all the PCs die horribly or go insane.

Call of Cthullu?

Personally I'll do High/Low Fantasy, Modern Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Sci-Fan.

Real is boring. I do that every day.

I never got into any RP forum games before but it seems interesting enough to give it a shot

Well.... I couldn't really do it without going all serious business mode and I know there'd be a lot of people just playing around and having fun, so I'd get frustrated and wouldn't really bother.

So, uh.... probably not. I'm not big into that sorta thing anyways, not with other people anyways. I like writing, but... I like controlling my own story. :P

Anyway... ultimately the setting is up to the DM anyway. JoonasTo, what do you say?
