Have not been in any of the beta but I've been hearing good things about this game. I will check it out probably after head start.

I played during the last 2 betas, tbh I wasn't impressed, it seems like there aren't any original concepts whatsoever.  And there was no effort whatsoever at hiding how much of the game is a blatant ripoff from other games.
With that said I'll be getting it on the 1st when it hits retailers xD  I like the class system, and I like killing rifts.
So I expect to be entertained for about 2 weeks before I go back to Aion...

Aye it's the soul system that interests me. The rest is all pretty much copied from other titles. Though you can say even the multi class thingie is taken from the Final Fantasy mmo's.

The whole package looks pretty slick though and I hear the game runs well even in beta. Very few bugs. If it entertains me for 3 months I'm happy. Not expecting a mind blowing experience.

Hay, we've got multiclass system in FFV that was one SNES decades ago.  :P

Because we can!

And we had multiclass in DnD from decades ago too lol. What I meant was in a mmo. Although rift's system restricts you to archtype classes. So I guess slightly different.

First it got me interested, but I didn't find out much about combat system so I lost the interest. Basically if it has anything to do with tab-targeting and endless grind, I'll abstain.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Has anyone bought this game yet? If so, I would like to know if my system would PROBABLY run it. I got an Intel Dual Core (not a Core 2 or Core 2 Duo) at 2.0 GHz, an ATI 4330, and 4 GBs of RAM. Will I at least be able to RUN the game with low-medium graphics and get acceptable framerates (30+ fps)

I've been trying to get on Rift's forums, but I can't post or do anything really.

I played one beta. Didn't play the second I was invited to. I didn't like it all that much.

The drop into group system meant that you couldn't create a lasting group outside of instances. Which meant I wasn't interested.

Why can't you create a lasting group out of instances? What's to stop you from not using the public grouping function and just form your own groups?

I tried creating groups in early levels prior to the first instance. The longest one held up was 5 minutes. That was enough for me to drop the game since I want to play support characters in all games. Not even in the events in the main world did people group properly, even though there was a huge button to join a group when in an area of that kind.

I never found a way to search for groups, just joining those near you or inviting those near you. Might just be me missing part of the game.

Couldn't you just, you know, play with your friends?

I think what you experienced might just be a beta thing Sosseres. I'm sure you've been in many beta's, you know the drill. People don't really look to group seriously in beta's. Most people just explore or are trying out builds etc. If you mean Rift doesn't have an instance grouping system like wow that lets you slap a group together with the press of a button, well most mmo's don't launch with that type of functionality.

You can always fall back on the time tested method of group forming. Spamming chat. That always works =P Or just rely on the good old friends lists. That usually works better than any crappy grouping system games like to implement.  :P

LOL

I'm sorry, but doing it from MY system would be a joke... I only get like 25-50 fps on low-medium settings. Combat is great, closing rifts is cool as hell (like mini-instances), and leveling is a lot slower at the beginning than WoW or Guild Wars. I'm like 10 hours in so far, only gotten to level 9, and I'm still in the same general area of one quest hub... I havn't even gotten to explore the rest of that particular zone let alone go to another zone. It's less walking, more questing, and more fun. I wish I could provide screens for you though :(

That doesn't make much sense. Intel has released the following dual core processors for desktops: Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, i3, and i5. Laptops have: Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, i3, and i5.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

Not a desktop processor I think... only laptops. It's nothing special by any means, but it runs my games, plays my 1080p videos, and that's all I use it for. Now I wish I can convert my PS3 into a computer that I can use Linux on.... it would be a made good gaming rig!

leveling really isnt that bad, you're just doing it wrong...takes 40-60 mins to hit lvl 10 if you just blast through the beginning quests, beyond lvl 10 leveling is still rather quick, but it just depends on if you wanna level fast or screw around at low levels.  Not to mention you can level quite quickly from either grinding, questing, closing rifts or doing the battlegrounds.

this game needs mods, lots of em, the action bars are silly, that needs a lot of modding :D

I have 47 addons in my WoW account, only necessities Blizzard did not think of :F
