Havoc10K:
I will do the same. Learned for mmy mistake about AION :P

TorturdChaos:
I played one of the beta's for Rift and it was fun.  They soul system for the classes is kinda overwhelming.  I love the variety but at the same time I spent WAY to much time just trying to figure out what I wanted to play.  The game sucked me in much more than Aion did.  Although one big complaint I had is the game tired to start in something like 1960x1080 resolution.  I was using and old CRT monitor at the time, and that is higher res than i can support so it kept shutting off my monitor.  So I had to spend 10 min or so trying to change the resolution w/o loading into the game.  (I think I found the trick was to force it into window mode, then I could play with the resolution).  Sadly the game doesn't like 1042 x 768 res much and I would get odd blurry lines across the screen.  Every couple of inches there would be a 1/4" strip that if there was text there I couldn't read it.
But I do have a new 23" flat screen monitor now, so it removes that issue and makes it a possibility for playing it. But I'm kind rather torn right now because 1/2 my friends still play WoW but the other 1/2 left for Rift.  I can't afford both, nor do I have the time to play both, but so far I can't bring myself to completely drop WoW for Rift, even tho I would really like to game with the group of friends that left of Rift.
So its turning out to be a hard decision for me, not just based on the game, but based on who is playing it.  ./sign.

They just released the latest patch 1.1.

Starts a world event, not just zone.  A death invasion for the whole world, and upon completing it will open a new raid.  Yea, similar to AQ in WoW.  All levels can participate with unique rewards just for this event.  And expect many additions to come each month.  Remember this is an MMO that was just released, while the others were trying to fix their bugs each month, Rift adds new content.  Great devs.

I mentioned earlier about coinlock for added security (locks account if using a vastly different IP), they also added an authenticator.  Free for those using a droid.

Easier reporting of bots in warfronts (BGs).  So if reported they have to actually participate or get banished.

Can now unmerge groups.  Public grouping made it easy to merge already made groups during invasions, now the leader can unmerge them to go back to the way it was.

Built in video capture.  It will capture, encode, and can upload it directly to your YouTube account.  All while in game.

Here's a test clip I just made:

The encoding is kinda horrible.  Looks much better in game.  But it's free and built in and with no probs first time trying it.
I do plan on upgrading my video card.  5770 was more than enough for WoW, but I want better since I'll be playing Rift for now on.

So far so good.  The devs are on top of their game, keeping my faith in them with no regrets.

Havoc10K:
So, I just gave a try to the trial, I am not gonna compare this game by names to any other games, but seeing how much backup this title has it could have been a lot better, so far i am playing as a mage, Pyromancer, Elementalist, Stormer, problem is, those classes are hardly living up to their names, Pyro spell damage is funny (low), I played very old games where a single fireball meant big devastations, newer games have a fireball that still does devastate, even if at smaller ranges, this is definitely not a class for those that want to deal damage even early in the game, Elementalist is a joke, basically I can summon and control an elemental, the name Elementalist generally made me think I could use some cool spells, but when I read it wasn't very interesting, no wonder a lot of necromancers and dominators walk around, I barely see any stormers, for good reason too, it appears their very basic spell, electrocute, often doesn't even work, Thunder Blast as some players say should have been a small AOE spell hitting 2-3 targets that are close together, back to pyro though, one spell made me want to have that class, Flame Jet, according to the tooltip, the spell damages any enemies group in front of caster at 7 m, well, it appears we, players, are fucking huge beings cuz the spell doesn't even go past my shadow, hell, even with 5 enemies in front of me attacking the tank, they are around 4-5, and they are directly in front of me, only 2-3 are affected, another bad factor of the game is death and ressing, you die, you get a choice of soul walk, which is simply idiotic, or do a corpse run, well, enjoy the latter, why ? you will do that a lot if you die, reason simple, you have no idea what is in your corpse's vicinity, how many enemies simply camp for you to respawn, many times it happened that when I respawned, I got insta killed by a mob that was around me like probably behind me, just waiting, to kill you again, another aspect of dying that terribly annoys me is vitality, what actually happens to you when you lose all vitality ? i tried to read up about it but there is no information about it.

The only good thing about this game is the Rift events, they are actually pretty challenging, especially when mobs are 2-3 levels ahead of you, this is something a lot of games could benefit from, i remember WOW had a similar event but it stopped, at the very least.

The visual level of the game is not it's good point, a game that is launched in an age of very advanced graphics adapters could benefit more from more advanced visual effects, sadly there are very few of those in this game. Even with my crappy old Athlon XP 64 5000+ on highest settings I run the game without much problems, and still the improvement to the visual level is very small.

This game lacks a lot in my eyes, but at least I am not wasting my time on a full game, the controls are terrible, and from what I see only one race is good enough to play, the defiants middle race, they are colorful, and interesting, every otehr race is very meh, I was actually hoping to see something new for a change, but yet again, humans, elves and dwarfs in a single alliance, and a lot better races in the other on the opposing side.

At this point it is hard to say but FF14 has very interesting races, even FF11 is better, I'm personally fed up with Humans, elves and dwarves, it's so unoriginal, I han live up with orcs, they are always stupid and you can expect them to be bad, but at least you can smash their face in and there is no difference :P

I am very disappointed.

I kinda quit playing after reaching 50.  It was pretty easy to level.  As a Justicar/Shaman, I just attacked everything, pulling as many as I can.  But I do die since I don't pay attention and tag elites too.  Though I can solo elites, which I got server first for some, but not when they are with an army.

Using self crafted gear and ingame video capture, hitting 50.  This is from just using two macros ;)  One for single target and other for AoE...auto uses my specials when they proc.  Can be pretty boring.  And yea, the surroundings are kinda dreary in this area... and most others.

Mages have the toughest time leveling, but when I last played, they owned pvp.  Putting up some area buff which you can't interrupt them, then proceeding to nuke people, sometimes even one shotting.  OP with a pocket healer.  But they do have great devs.  Additions are done within weeks, not months.  Like they just added a LFG for dungeons.

My friend went back to WoW with that free 7 day thing they give to unsubscribers.  I get them too.  Guild wants me back (seems they are still having probs with attendance) and are already farming most of the bosses in heroic, but told them I'm done with MMO's for awhile.

Most of us are waiting for SWTOR, but last I heard that's been pushed to 2012.  I'm no longer even interested in Tera or Guild Wars 2, thinking it will become the same.

But there is one game that I'm dying for: Blade & Soul.  I'm in love with these character designs....even if they are human, and also love the gameplay.  Beta is already out in Asia.  From what I've seen, I'm even more stoked and like how they included many cutscenes.
