Rift!
Tegh:
I played WoW since it came out. Was a Guild Master of a guild that had over 200 players that raided every night and was the MT. We cleared all the end game content, and I've continued to do so, but Rift has it beat.
WoW has gone too far into the PvP BS to ever return to the game it used to be. Rift, while it has been looking into fixes for PVP, isn't damaging the PVE in the process. So a few PvP souls were unbalanced? Happens in every MMO and they balance them out, and them something else reigns supreme...who cares? In Rift, you don't end up so nerfed that you have to switch to another character entirely, you just flop to a new soul.
WoW had good graphics for the time, and Cata tried to fix them, but they're dated. Rift looks great for an MMO; one of the best I've seen. It has better mechanics, more quests per area, and is simply more fun to play. Even the end game, while sharing a lot with WoW is just better since you don't have to build up a character/gear set for months to do a single job. You can do it all on one character, with close to the same sets, allowing for more flexibility in positions and game play.
The "random encounter" aspects to the game are brilliant. They make the game more fun in that way alone. Basically, it's not WoW, but it shares a few elements. Plus, they accomplished it all on only a few patches/release. I'll play a raid or two in WoW now, but I'll have FUN in Rift, and stay there for hours!
