Looking at the left wall in the 2nd screenshot makes the difference pretty apparent.

Aren't R5 (or some other region that isn't R2J or R1, maybe I'm wrong) DVDs usually pretty bad? How does this look in motion?

Certainly it looks a lot better in screenshot, with much less blocking/banding and much better details, but how about the subs used?
