My problem with Plane Scape and IWD is that they use the same engine as BG. Chances are they won't run properly on my computer (FYI: Alpha Centuari refuses to play on my computer). I get a bunch of black lines forming a grid. Its hideous. I also don't like the interface (as mentioned before). I have to go into a sub menu to get to my spells, and then I have to remember which symbol is which spell (they all look the same to me). I have ID II somewhere. I liked it. I'd be playing more for the tactical RPG game play then the RPing. No computer game can do good job at RP. At best it'll be adequate with a good linear (even if they claim non-linear) plot. The best I've seen in a game, as far as I can recall at least, was NWN 2: MotB.
I'll look at gameplay videos for A Farewell to Dragon and Divinity, but chances are I'll wait until its gone down to at least 15 dollars. I don't want to price hunt now. I paid $15 for dragon age, and 17 for Mass Effect and ME2 as a bundle. I wait for games to be cheap.
I own King's Bounty, a 1C game, and its pretty good. Runs well on my computer, and I haven't noticed any bugs.
