Batman: Arkham City
Takeshi:
--- Quote ---Ordinarily, it would be difficult to describe any one part of the crime-ridden Gotham City as "the bad part of town." That's likely to change soon, as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced October 18 as the North American release date for Batman: Arkham City. The game will launch in Australia the following day, with a European launch October 21.

Aw, we always get the good stuff last.

The only thing the last game needed was a longer singleplayer experience, not because it wasn't long because it was, just really wanted to go to Gotham and stop Harvey Dent. Hopefully, they haven't tampered with too much of the old settings like F for grabling to higher run, click space to jump, hold space to run, stuff like that.

Fantastic game that was: Arkham Asylum. I just got to 100% in that game a small time ago. Extremely fun gameplay! It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a game this much. (Looking forward to Portal 2 though.) Now I wish they would just enable PC users to play as the Joker.

Oh my, wouldn't have pictured you playing Arkham, midhras. And 100%? Oh wow, I assumed that was with The Riddler's maps? How the hell did you manage to get the one on that platform left to the gate of Arkham? The one that's behind lasers? It was one of the few I was having problems with. Only got to 80% or 90% though.
midhras:
Yeah, I had to resort to those maps (the ones you find in-game mind you!) to find all of the Riddler's challenges. The one I struggled hardest with was a single trophy hidden away on a small island in the middle of Gotham Bay. All the others were pretty straightforward. I can't even remember the one you are referring to, to be honest. I must be getting old... I'll try to take note during my next playthrough (doing it on the hardest difficulty is the final achievement I've yet to attain).
Mind you, I actually am not an achievement-hoarder due to its inherent futility. This game was fun though, and I wouldn't mind a second playthrough AT ALL.
Actually the most fun for me in that game is the fighting in the challenges. I get an enormous kick of making huge combo's (although I still haven't hit the triple-digit mark. Again, I must be getting old.)
Finally, why on earth would you have a hard time picturing me playing as the greatest detective? Too out-of-character for me? Remember that we're talking in one of the geekiest corners of the net, here. In effect: I grew up on video-games, my friend - even though I am and always have been a moderate consumer... I do still miss out on some sorely-needed sleep on occasion.

Harder than you'd think. Ivy and Bane are espcially hard to beat. Hell, Joker even gave me trouble on Normal, and only around the 40 or 50th try did I beat him.

This. Just didn't picture you playing Batman, then again, this game have managed to appeal to a lot of different people, hell, even my friend who hates Batman (apparently, because he doesn't have superpowers) said that Arkham City looked pretty awesome.
The first gameplay video is out, by the way.

The flight dive and pulling up looks awesome. Probably gonna love doing that. And grapling while in the air is something I missed doing in the first game. I mean, you'd think he could do it. Though the amount of other stuff you could do made it seem not so important to complain about. Also, I hope there's some freedom in this game, that you can get anywhere on this map. What a rush standing on top one of those high buildings and doing the dive! ;)
