Batman: Arkham City
deadskin:
Wow, just saw this thread. Arkham Asylum was one of the best games I've ever played.
Needless to say, I'm going to preorder City on the first game it's available.

Downside to Asylum was the linear aspect, but with the larger world, and more "side missions" it would spruce up what was already an incredible game. I wanted more after beating it on hard mode at 100% and getting every achieve...just seemed too fun to be that short. Looks like they got the memo ;)

Yup, pretty much how I felt after beating it. Then again, limited how much stuff they can put in the game without making it feel crowded. The five times bigger area Arkham City will have is definitely warranted. Also, more enemies. My first thoughts after taking down the first bunch of enemies were "Moar! Give me some bad guys to beat up!" Combat was that fun.
And Rocksteady Studios are definitely welcome to make more DLC to Arkham City after its release as long as it's worth it. Missions and more character introduced would be great, and it's definitely easier to make DLC for Arkham City than Arkham Asylum.

Yeah a few new bad guys would make things better. The combat was so fluid, and made you feel like a bad ass, that it was kinda sad what they gave you to fight. When a guy with a cattle prod would drop the thing and just become an easy normal thug after...kinda took some of the thrill out.
Hopefully they add more variations in the mix to give the player some kind of challenge. It felt great smashing a 300+ combo, but it'd feel even better to get a 50+ on guys that can mess you up if you make a single mistake.

Have you seen the combat? And how much you can do? Arkham Asylum's simple combat pales compared to what Rocksteady have added of moves.
On a side note, will be getting this for PS3 probably. I don't see them upping the graphics terribly much, but I still don't think I'll be able to run it well on my laptop. This isn't like a FPS where I frustratedly die every now and then because my aim is shit. Sure, auto-aim, but that's helping too much.
