Oral sex is anything but 'new', if it were to play a significant role in the spread of cancer then it would be way more widespread than you can possibly imagine. There's no need for medical hocus-pocus, just a bit of common sense to come up with that conclusion. If there's really a correlation, why has that evolution stepped in only in the last 30 years, even though oral sex has been practised for much longer ?
I guess the next step will be to state that giving a pearl necklace causes skin cancer ?

Yeah 'common sense' has an awesome track record in scientific terms doesn't it ...... sun rotates around earth ........ earth is obviously flat ....... babies come entirely from a seed planted by men ........ smells obviously create diseases .... etc, etc .....

So... oral sex increases the risk of oral cancer because of some virus that gets transmitted. Yeah, I can believe that.
It follows that vaginal sex increases the risk of vaginal cancer, also of cancer of the penis.
It further follows that anal sex increases the risk of rectal cancer, also of cancer of the penis.
In sum one can say that sex increases the risk of cancer induced by aforementioned virus.
But seriously, what's the news in this story? That grandma needs to get laid?
