The PS2 had one CPU... the PS3 has nine cores in it's CPU.
The 3DS has two (OMG) ARM11 CPUs running at 266 MHz, while the DSi has one ARM9 at 133 MHz and one ARM7 at 33 MHz.
The 3DS has 64 MBs of RAM, the DSi only has 16 MBs of RAM.
The DSi has 5-14 hours of play time... the 3DS has... 2.5-5 hours.

You comparing the two hardwares (DSi and 3DS) to a PS2 to the PS3 is not really working. You see, for such an insignificant increase in CPU power, you lose all that battery life? I always thought the PS2 to the PS3 was a progression in hardware... while the 3DS is a somewhat... regression in it's primary function as a gaming console (battery life and portability). 

Citation needed? Ok, when the 3DS comes out... go to your local game store and see for yourself whether or not you can get the regular DS version of the game along with the 3DS one. It's called a promotional blackout on the regular DS games to promote the 3DS. You might not know it, but corporations are sneaky. :P

The graphics are way better on 3DS than DS. It also has 75% more resolution.

No, for 3DS games. NDS games last somewhat longer.

Ah, Ok. But still, the graphics quality - battery ratio is rather poor.

Khundes:
Have no depth perception so can't see 3D, so 3DS is as interesting to me as a banana peel on the side of the road.

Maybe when an exclusive I'd REALLY want crops up and provided I can turn off the 3D, I might consider it. But until then, I yawn at its 3D gimmick.

It has a slider for the strength of 3D effect, which can be turned off too.
