Recommend an SLI Bridge
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:23:50 PM »
I need some help on this. For the past days I have been searching for a good SLI bridge to connect my two GTX 560 Ti SC. SLI mode is not enabled and I found out that you need an SLI Bridge to connect the two. Anything you guys can recommend?

I checked the contents and there was none. These what I bought:

If you look at the last picture, you can see the SLI bridge doesn't exist among them. Now, if you look at the picture from one of the sides and zoom in, you'll see that there is something that you can connect to them. That's an SLI bridge. I'll contact nVidia and speak to them but I read that people who have two of those should also get an SLI bridge for them too. Sigh at nVidia.

No. New to the feature. The lady from nVidia said they come along with the new motherboards. Mine is an old one so I need a new connector. Best part about talking to this girl is she's ... not English native!

Anyways, I need some help getting one. Please recommend me one. My motherboard is ASUS P5N-D and it does support SLI function. It's from 2008 so yea. Wow that's a lot of walking around. I need to contact ASUS for the connector. -goes to ASUS-

Well, it's not Nvidia that makes the actual card, it's the brand that makes and packages the card. EVA in this case did not give you a bridge, but most other companies that make that card will give you one.

Here is the only real option in SLI bridges... it's OEM and works out of the box.

The SLI bridge usually comes with your motherboard, even if it's older, since they don't pack them with the cards; you can buy them seperately if you need.  ATI usually packs them with the cards themselves.

Here's an official Nvidia SLI bridge, although it looks like one that's usually packed with ASUS motherboards:

Thanks. I ordered the EVGA one after I looked at both of those links. Since my cards came from EVGA and all. Very disappointed ... whey did they not put the bridges inside the boxes?

Bridges normally come with the mobo, in SLI's case.
AMD cards however would normally come with corssfire bridge.

Cause ATI > Nvidia... just kidding! Uhh, actually all the companies that make the similarly priced and powered ATI 6950 all come with Cross Fire bridges... soooooo *coughatiismuchbettercouhg*

Just gotta wait for it now. I wonder how vastly this will improve my system. I know on my 8800 GT SC I ran it for like a month without SLI being enabled, then I switched it on when I realized it wasn't and it drastically improved performance and gameplay. Wonder how strong the GTX 560's will be.

Are sure if the EVGA bridge lines up with the spacing of your PCI-E slots, since it's not flexible like the ASUS bridge?  Although the spacing pretty standard, but some motherboards might do the layout differently or whatever.  :S

Ya, let us know how the 560s hold up.  Too bad the 580 is still so god damn expensive.
