Well i love firefox but everyone loves chrome for some reason so i thought i'd give it a try. One thing i dont like so far is there is no search bar unless this can be found some where else i'd be glad if someone told me.

It also wouldnt import my bookmarks from firefox had to manually put them in.

It doesnt seem as fast as firefox pages dont load as fast.

chrome doesn't have a separate search bar, instead just type whatever you want to search in the addresses bar and it automatically searches on google. You can also change the default search engine by clicking the options button on side of address bar

Thx for info. One thing i liked about the Firefox search bar is i can change what site im searching because i often search Wiki, ANiDB, google and so on.

Why not use the address-bar? Much easier than a separate search-box for every site.

When you search on AniDB, simply search "Code Geass anidb", and it will automaticely take you there.
Same with "Julius Caesar wiki", it will take you to the wikipedia-page.

You dont need a additional search bar for each site the one extra bar you can set to be a specific website search this way i get what i want rather then googling "Julius Caesar wiki" i just need to set it to wiki and search "Julius Caesar". For me its just easier to search the website rather then googling.

I believe you're misunderstanding.

Chrome has a keyword system for the omni-bar (that's what it's called, iirc). This gets automatically set up as you use certain websites.

For example, I use Anidb a lot. After searching on anidb once, Chrome automatically adds the keyword for anidb.net. Now, if i want to search on anidb, I can type "anidb.net name of anime series here" and it automatically searches on anidb (not google). Of course, this keyword can be edited. If you're lazy, instead of anidb.net, you can use just anidb or even adb. Of course, you can always use tab-autocomplete. In my case, I just do that. I can type ani-[tab] and it is ready to search on anidb.

Ya i've already edited all of them that i use but i feel it was easier to click which one i wanted and then paste or type my search then to type the shortcut then paste or type what i want to search.

I've used firefox for years so its hard to get use to something im not familiar with.

FWIW, Firefox has had keyword searching in the address bar for some time, albeit not automatically added like in Chrome. So, if you like the feature but not the browser, you can continue to use it when you go back.

Oh I'll bet google probably knows best that people don't read manuals with the number of people searching for stupid things that are covered in manuals and using their support services for silly things. But they do have an obligation to provide such information for their products.

hmm, good point. still though i don't think i'd make it available publicly, just give it to a few bored people and call them "tech support". gives them something to do.

Well, sometimes websites do not automatically identify with search term protocols that quickly so you need to do it manually....

BTW, chrome for me is stable on fast computers but not on slow ones (e.g. my PC) my lappy works like a charm.

Disadvantages are high memory usage 'cuz chrome splits the jobs of flash, the web engine, the websites you pop open and a lot of shit into separate processes for the comp to be overwhelmed with. Not recommended for slow comps as i said on the latter. But because of that, chrome can prevent existing plug-ins or unresponsive sites from destroying the main chrome process so still you can surf the web, watch pron, listen to j-pop, and eat popcorn without worrying of crashes...

Why would you even need that many tabs open? The fact it doesn't display the page title with that many tabs open doesn't mean it's a bad browser, just inconvenient for those who (for whatever reason) need to have so many pages open simultaneously.

The incognito window is for porn surfing anyway dont need that many porn sites open.

Anyway, can you make it so Chrome automatically deletes the torrent file after downloading a torrent like in firefox?

Different browsing habits. Multitasking.
And that's only 30 tabs, I've easily had 50-100 occasionally.

I'd say it's a bad browser if it doesn't include options on how to do things (like set new tab page to about:blank). Also I can't see the advantages of that kind of a tab behaviour.
