Basically, there is a special "My Sequel" offer that Bioware is doing where all people who have purchased Dragon Age 2 can claim a free digital copy of ME2 via the EA Download Manager/Store (no, not Steam). The copy has to be claimed before April 30th 2011 11:59PM PDT.

See http://dragonage.bioware.com/me2offer/ for more details.

Here's a quick outline of what to do:

1. Activate the Black Emporium content online (this can be done on the Bioware website or in-game, I think?)
2. Go to http://dragonage.bioware.com/me2offer/ and click "Get Mass Effect 2 Code"
3. Enter your activated Black Emporium code into the box and claim it.
4. Copy the ME2 code on the page and open up the EA Download Manager (download it here
5. Click Redeem Game Code (either in the settings panel or if you have no games in EADM, it will be on the My Games page)
6. Paste your code there, and click Redeem.
7. ???
8. PROFIT!!!

The ME2 code must be redeemed before June 30th 2011 11:59PM PDT

Is that a futile try to ease the anger of the DA2 players?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

I'm guessing this is only for PC? I have a PS3 and I would LOVE to get my money's worth (or just free shit).

Do I still get a Mass Effect 2 PC copy if I bought Dragon Age II on my console (Xbox 360 or Playstation 3)?

Yes you do. Everyone who purchased a new copy of Dragon Age II, no matter what system they purchased Dragon Age II for, is still eligible for a PC copy of Mass Effect 2.

No offer on the other way around? ME2 and you get DA2? ;D

@newy: I see it more as an opportunity for Bioware to get people invested in Mass Effect, they'll have to get ME1 if they want to play the game chronologically. And thus, more sales for ME3 too since they'll most likely love both games.

  • SHFG; I play to win. I'm good, and I know it.
Not much of a Mass Effect fan (Might not have played it enough), but this seems like a great offer if you're really into action-rpgs, yet haven't played Mass Effect 2.

Because I feel like it.

Too bad that the Cerberus Network DLC is not included, or any DLC for that matter.

They are not doing this to be nice. ME2 is an old game and pretty cheap now so giving it away will probobly make them some money with all the DLCs that exist.
Dont know what to put here

Does my copy of Mass Effect 2 include the Cerberus Network content?

Cerberus Network is included and will be entitled to the account used to redeem your Dragon Age II Online Pass. This includes Zaeed - The Price of Revenge, Cerberus Weapon and Armor, Normandy Crash Site, Cerberus Arc Projector, and Firewalker Pack. Visit the offer page to download the necessary files.

Wow I was excited when I read the title of this thread... Then realized it was a PC DLC thing. Which sucks for me... Because my computer can not run Mass Effect 2 let alone 1. Let alone any game past 2006. lol
Until next week that is. I'm upgrading my processor and video card.

I like Mass Effect for PS3, is it worth it on PC? Do you have to use a keyboard or can you use a joypad/ controller? Cause I hate gaming with a keyboard. Anyone got any input on this? Cause I'll DL it and wait for install til my system can run it, otherwise I'll pass on it. Let me know.

Edit: Doesn't matter. I grabbed it anyway. Haha.

Odd that they don't have it running through Steam as well.

Probably a promotion for their own system. Kind of like when Steam has Portal for free.

Does steam still have that deal going on? Cause I wanna try Portal.

No, sir. Portal is 9.99.

***EDIT*** On a side note, though, I do believe Portal is very much worth the 9.99. It's a great strategy/puzzle game. Beside that, I feel that most of the production studios often fail to do comedy right in their games. Valve, on the other hand, hits humor perfectly in Portal - I don't think there was a single joke I didn't at least chuckle over.

Ahh alright. Thanks for the information. It looks like a great game. I wanna beat it before I decide if I'm gonna get the sequel.  Makes sense though, right?

On the topic of Portal, if you buy Portal 2 on Steam, you get a free copy of Portal too.

But anyway, that's off topic.

unless that copy of ME2 doesn't have something uber fantastic that I don't already have, why would I bother with it anyways ?

most people that have DA2 also have ME2, and earlier games, point to this is really bothering me, I know that DA2 sold much more than DA:o and ME2, but still, maybe ME2 didn't sell that much and they are trying to get rid of keys ? I really have no idea why they are doing this, it's pointless, DA2 at my store is 23,95 Euros, ME2 is 14,95 Euros, I see the merit for a fresh player to do this but really ? people that have DA2 surely have ME2 as well, don't they ?

I didn't actually have ME2 (have ME1, DA:O U and DA2), so I quite liked this. Comes with Ceberus Network as well, which is cool.
