I have this game Pre ordered. It's from RockStar Games and it's a Noire type of game. Think Mafia 1 or 2 if you will but with amazing graphics and cut scenes. Kind of reminiscent of Heavy Rain. It's developed by Team Bondi/ Rockstar Games. So you know it's going to be a great game.

I mean... Red Dead Redemption was an amazing game in my own opinion. It takes place in L.A. (No duh) in 1947. You basically just take the roll of a detective and try to solve a series of murders. There's the corruption we all love in our games, drugs and it has a classical jazz soundtrack. Which is cool for someone like me since I play guitar and other instruments. Hopefully it's not cheesy jazz. I wanna be jazzing when I play this game. Haha.

L.A. Noire uses Light-sprint's real-time global illumination technology and something called Motion-Scan. Which records with 32 surrounding cameras to capture facial expressions from all angles. Oh!!!! I'm excited with no one to talk to about this with.

L.A. Noire is the first video game to be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. You know how cool that is? Anyone?

So let me hear what you all think out there. Obviously you know I'm excited. I wanna know what you guys think about this game.

I saw this in a local computer magazine and thought it would be kind of cool.

Then I saw it wasn't coming out for PC. ：（

Ha... Yeah. I didn't really look at that. I'm more of a console kind of guy. I am slowly coming around to PC though. Which is probably due to the fact that there is a DBZ MMORPG out there hopefully coming to America and a little ol' game series called Star Wars: The Old Republic coming out as well. Which is also an MMORPG. Both are games that are exciting to me though.

Makes me wish there were more MMORPGs on consoles... and that aren't WoW. I know of Old Republic, but that game seems like it will never come out (like Duke Nukem Forever!).

I have been looking into this L.A. Noire game though... it actually looks badass. You get to be a beat cop, then a detective, and work your way through L.A.'s police department. If the game gets favorable reviews, I will definitely pick it up since it seems like you can have different storylines with different choices you make while interrogating...

All I'm saying is, can I waterboard a mofo? Just kidding (at least give me the ability to burn a cigarette in someone's eye)

Once I get it I will post an honest review here in this topic. So that way everyone (On here) will know that it's an unbiased trustworthy review.

For console MMO though, you got DC universe... Which I have heard is better for PC than console. Source- Blair Herter. I think that's how you spell his name. lol

It would be cool to have an Earth and Beyond type game on the PS3 though... arcadey space shooter with customizable ships and different classes of ships like Eve Online... Eve Online needs to become more like Freelancer but that's a totally different topic.

In LA Noire, will we at least be able to explore all of LA or are we only limited to where the story takes us?

From what I have read and watched, it is going to be one of the biggest sandbox type of games ever attempted by Rockstar/Team Bondi. It's been refereanced towards a GTA type of game. So, Yes! It's going to be free roam with linear elements, like being able to obtain clues whilst in free roam. So you'll be able to do whatever is possible in the game.

In all the interviews and features keeps saying it's not like GTA 4 and that it's a linear game versus a sandbox. Obviously as part of the LAPD, I won't be running over civvys, but I want to be able to have that freedom. Even if they don't have the same GTA feel, I'll probably pick up the game because I love that time period and the cars.

I kinda figured you'd get that from those. Haha. I'm certain they say it's not like GTA so they don't scare off people who don't like GTA or those of us who love GTA as well.
In either case I don't think it's going to be a linear game. I've seen some GP footage and it doesn't seem like it will be from that alone. I also love that time period and also the vehicles. It fascinates me.

It's something about the running around in a 1940's Chrysler with a cool hat and a 6 shot revolver (.38 special) and shootin baddies is what I love. Not to mention the aspect of actually being a detective, finding clues, and playing Sherlock Fucking Holms...

The first game where you tried to figure thing's out that i truly loved was Heavy Rain. I might be alone on that one but it's a great game. I mention this one because it's amazing looking as is LA Noire. So i think in the movie type of aspect they really relate to one another. That's my opnion though.

Xbox 360 to have 3 discs as the PS3 to only fill up the single 25GB layer. I'm sure the 360 fans can live through with those DVDs.

I rarely get games for 360 unless they are Exclusive. Like Fable III.

FF7's second disc was short. But if you wanna talk about a big game, wasn't there a 360 game with six discs and it was an RPG? I might be wrong. Also, FFVIII really sucked balls to keep swapping discs.

Rather swap discs every 20 hours than wait through 5 minute long load times every 5 minutes.

Don't think I'll buy it, doesn't seem like it would be fun after the first 10 hours. The facial movement of the characters was really interesting, though.

Lost Odyssey had like 3 discs or something. Maybe 4. I'm not quite sure. but it's the only 360 RPG game that I can think of that had more than
one disc.

You are very quick to judge a game that hasn't even been released yet. Maybe you should wait til it comes out and someone on here or someone you know get's it before judging? I'll give a review on here personally. One from first glance/first play and then after I beat it.

From the news source, the Guardian (who has since taken down the article), said that the game was near perfect in every respect. If the game gets really favorable reviews, it will be interesting to see how the game plays. The whole 22 cases thing kinda turned me off, except one case can last up to 2 hours depending on how good or bad your detective skills are. I hope it actually has a difficulty of some degree when finding evidence or when obtaining a confession. Let's say an average case lasts 75 minutes... that's still 27 hours of gameplay... with the 40 unassigned cases. Add on collectable cars and easter eggs and it will be one great game. I've always wanted to play a game like GTA as a cop instead of the bad guy. I'm hoping I can use a Tommy Gun as well in the game!

I've read most of the reviews so far. The least convincing of which was the GT's... but still showed a lot about the game.
