1. The charging module (the usb cord) is tiny. You can plug it into any computer to have it charge... or heck just bring the power adapter that plugs it into the outlet; it's seriously TINY... smaller than any other device you may carry with you for music.
2. The batteries do not run as fast as you may think.
3. The iPhone has a massive battery life for just listening to music. Heck, I can probably watch an entire season of anime that I encoded (easy to do, by the way) on it off of one charge. The screen is great for it, too; perfect size for the resolution most anime is in these days.

I know how you're thinking, because I used to be one of those "all a phone needs to do is make calls, right?" people. Until I actually tried, I didn't quite understand. Phones have advanced a ridiculous amount.

people like you deface and devalue media which people spend countless hours working on by watching it on a 3.x inch screen.

Oh and while its nice to have a nice smartphone with an assload of features some people cant always afford to pay 15-30$ a month extra to get that phone

Sod the fuck off. I watch it however I please, and I get full enjoyment out of it. Don't assume random fucking shit things about me. FYI I've watched most of the anime I do have currently off of my computer anyway.

Fair enough. I think it's quite worth it, but that's just me.

Edit: struck out all of the terribly offensive words; getting soft. =|

Sorry, I have to interrupt you there. I can't use something like an iPhone, because I am heterosexual.

Personally, if it were me, I would go for for the phone with the features I will actually use.

I got myself a new phone just the other day.

All I really needed was a phone that had a decent sized screen, could play games on it, even if they are only the crappy java based ones, BUTTONS for dialing stuff and a halfway decent camera, for when I need to take 'evidence' photos for my job (I'm a security guy by trade).

The phone I ended up with also has all kinds of other things on it, internet (but not until I actually set up a connection), bluetooth (when I actually turn it ON), a radio (when I set up the stations) and it will also play MP3's.

The other thing is that it is a 'hybrid' phone, so it also has a touch screen.

The most important thing is..... it does what I want, without too mucking about.
Sure it has lots of other features on it, but none of them will work until I set them up, so it's not going to cost me money updating itself behind my back.
Will I use the extra features? One day, maybe.

In short, get the phone that does what you want it to do and has features and things you will actually use.

BTW, the phone I ended up with is a Nokia C3. Cost me $230 (Australian) to buy it outright, not on a plan.

I own an LG phone and it's nice. The battery lasts me 7 days without needing a charge. So that kind of shoots down your battery theory.

i had 2 LG and both batteries were bad if you actually use the phone, they die just too fast (short life spam).

I'm not trying to start a debate but I use my phone everyday. And a lot. So maybe you just got some bad batteries or didn't charge the phone completely before turning it on for the first time before activation. Who knows? Though if you had forgotten to charge it the first time outta the box then you would have a crappy battery strength.

I think in the end it's gonna be their choice on what phone they are going to get. So choose the phone that you want. You don't HAVE to shell out the few extra bucks if you only need the most simplistic phone possible.
