The Amazon link he provided had it priced at 850 dollars; Newegg has it priced even higher. That's a 470 dollar discount, not 250 dollar discount. I would assume that's why people are confused.
So, it had to have been 220 dollars off of the original price tag before he applied a 250 dollar display model discount. That's a 25.9% initial price reduction. Considering he may have rounded numbers on his end or something of the sort, that means a ~25% price reduction just for working there (where do you work, srsly?!), and then a further 250 dollar reduction for the display model? That's a total of 55.3% off the ticketed price.
That's pretty ridiculous. Almost makes me wonder why I'm bothering with this college.

He usually gets ridiculous shit like, "Open box", "Missing parts", "Random scratch", "Employee discount" and "Clearance" discounts. Oh... all at once as well.
