Return it and get an LED/LCD. lol I'm guessing you paid around $500-$700 for that TV at like Best Buy or something. You should have never gotten a Plasma. They just suck all in all. Otherwise I would call the Manufacturer and b*tch them out til they do something for you to make it right.

Hope that helps in the slightest.
If you have any kind of questions, ask me?
I'm pretty good with electronic devices like TV/PC/VG Systems and Etc.

P.S. I have a lot of personal experience w/ products not working and getting stuff for them and the OG item replaced all in all.

once an image is burned in - it's burned in. I have a samsung 52" plasma and have never had any problems with it (yet). usually an images gets burned in after a day or so, not after 5 minutes.

Return the plasma, it's obviously got some big problems.

Dunno about getting a LED-LCD, i have one of those too (also samsung), it's good but the plasma is better. This is a strictly personal opinion though.

It's quite rare for newer model plasmas to get image burn in, but it is, however, not that uncommon for them to get image retention.

Here is a nice faq/article about break-in, burn-in, and image retention for Samsung plasmas

If the image is indeed burned in you should take it back and get an exchange/refund because there is definitely something wrong (as was previously posted), you should be well within the return policy.

I hear newer plasmas are far harder to burn in than earlier ones due to different chemical composition and software built in that should keep it from burning in (ie: Gamer mode). You got a shit tv. Return it like others have said.

Seriously though, it would have to be hours of the same image, not 5 mins.
