Burn Image on new Plasma TV
halfelite:
image retention is pretty normal for a plasma but should go away as soon as you tune to a different channel with moving images.

Extended period of time, yes. 5 mins, no.
My bro put a nice "+" on ours back in the day by playing Halo for hours and hours and hours. It took a good few days to get rid of it by watching regular programming. That was over a year ago, the tv still works fine.

Any help? thanks...

Return it and get an LED/LCD. lol I'm guessing you paid around $500-$700 for that TV at like Best Buy or something. You should have never gotten a Plasma. They just suck all in all. Otherwise I would call the Manufacturer and b*tch them out til they do something for you to make it right.
Hope that helps in the slightest.
If you have any kind of questions, ask me?
I'm pretty good with electronic devices like TV/PC/VG Systems and Etc.

P.S. I have a lot of personal experience w/ products not working and getting stuff for them and the OG item replaced all in all.

eh your statements are only partly true.
Plasma tvs are some of the nicest looking screens you can get for the money. The burn and slightly higher heat output are some of the major downsides to them

+1 colours are usually better on plasma but another downside is that the colours fade

I always took 40" as being the line between LCD and Plasma. Larger, get a plasma. Smaller, you probably won't notice the difference (excluding the heat and the energy bill) between a Plasma and a decent LCD.
