Both aforementioned consoles were also units that spec wise blew the pants off the PS2. I found many games moreso than the PSX and PS2 era lacking in soul and focusing on superficial things like graphics. Don't get me wrong... I like graphics. But overall, it felt like the soul of gaming went into hibernation.
I would hate a touchscreen controller. No feeling IMO. Amalgamate the two, there's a possibility there... but not solely touchscreen.

I agree with every sentiment. The gaming scene seems to have turned to the power of the engine and the graphics capabilities over the actual enjoyment of the game. Then again, I've always been an RPG player, not so much a player of FPS games.

personally I feel like right now we are given those great looking games and stuff, but with time, where BluRay drives will become as omnipresent as DVD drives right now (CDs are still popular for music and stuff but you will likely not find a sole CD-writer anymore, probably) so with the complete adaptation of the BluRay drives, perhaps then we will finally get games that are not only beautiful in visual fashion, but also are giving us loads of real deep story and gameplay. Although that is how I feel about it personally, it might take quite a while, but perhaps that is how it must be.

Next generation formats are still in development by Sony and other third parties that are supporting them. Just like how they did it with PS1 (CD), PS2 (DVD), PS3 (Blu-ray) so we'll see what PS4 will have. WTB 500 gig format!
Havoc10K:
PS4 would likely have to use holographic graphics, if i'm not mistaken, writing a holo disk actually does require you to have around 300-500 gigs of space fo say a few hours of game experience, that would mean real 5D games and movies... oh I already see the lines at psychologists office with kids lined up with reality distortion syndromes of all levels.
Sosseres:
Has there been a game that used the full blu-ray size?
