Yes, plenty of games. Specifically, the exclusives fill up pretty well and you can tell the difference. Metal Gear Solid IV was an 80 gigs game, but they chopped down to make it fit into 50 gigs and we lost a lot of stuff. Kojima should have made two BD discs. The game solid over 5 million copies. There's a lot of other games, too.

yea by lost lots you mean another 30 gigs of fucking cut scenes.

MGS was less game play then cut scene

--- End quote ---
No, the 30 gigs were about 8 gigs of gameplay and 22 gigs of cut scenes. And to those that don't like the cut scenes, you might as well not play any Kojima games. I loved the cut scenes.

MG4 had gameplay? I never noticed...

Yes, it did.

Nintendo announced the system will be present at E3. E3 will be held between June 7 to June 9. More information through the link. Their Nintendo Wii has sold over 86 million systems.

While being unsure of where the picture came from - anyone else notice the controller on the picture? It looks like a regular controller - the bulk of a XBOX controller - with a screen in the middle. Obviously, that picture could just have been made up and I haven't been paying much attention to the Nintendo rumors for the past week - but do you think Nintendo is really moving away from the motion controllers to get more... conventional... with this system?

It would be nice to keep the Motion Controller intact. They've also announced a motion controller that is better than the PS3's Move. Thou', like you said, I'd really like to have games that are not-so-dependent on motion control.

So the system is officially going to release next year in 2012. If it's under 300 dollars and does exceed PS3's CELL processor and feature a big storage format for games, then this could be the idle system for hardcore games until Xbox 720 and PS4 come out. Nonetheless, we've seen how the 360 and PS3's first year in gaming went and having game designers go through some trouble (specially on the PS3). So there is no strong promises on how good Nintendo next generation console will be.

I've used enough touch screens in my life to know that's not gonna fly well and it's going to be f'ing expensive. I already think 50-60 for a controller is stupid, what'll that be? 75?

--- End quote ---
not to mention extremely fucking breakable

I come from the era of FUCK YOU<THROW CONTROLLERS> either talking to the game itself or to your friend who is being a cheap asshole. Adding a screen to the controller just = expensive all around

Wii never lost that sentiment.

--- Quote from: Tatsujin on April 22, 2011, 03:15:21 PM ---Next generation formats are still in development by Sony and other third parties that are supporting them. Just like how they did it with PS1 (CD), PS2 (DVD), PS3 (Blu-ray) so we'll see what PS4 will have. WTB 500 gig format!

Obviously something like NTFS and EXT5 or something like that. You think physical media is going to keep rollerblading down the alley?

Even if this new console is 80x more powerful, it means nothing if it can't be used to potential. Anyone want to look into the past and talk about how much SEGA was just way too fucking ahead of its time?

The controllers remind me of how the PSP can be connected to the PS3.

Havoc10K:
I have to agree with fohfoh, creating a powerful console and not using it's full capability should be punished by law, I mean, people pay a lot of scrilla for this (money for dummies) shit, and what do we get ? half assed games that are nice looking but short ? and you paid around 30-40$ for them ? I bet a lot of people are now looking at their game shelve and should count how much they actually paid for their fun, but was the money really worth it ?

That is why I first pirate the game to see if my money won't be disappointed with me, if I think the game is worth the money they want for it, I buy it, if not, I delete it, this sounds like i'm an asshole, but if the game I DL and install and play doesn't hook me for 10 mins and I see flaws, I don't want it, I have many original games, I think around 40 of them, and 20 for PS2.

I regret not checking out some of the PC games before I bought them, they disappointed me, but I am really interested if there will be a game that actually shows the full power of the PC, I haven't met a game that doesn't even run on my PC, and I'm still using Athlon II XP 64bit 5000+, I play most games on High Quality level, and some on Ultra, and i'm able to maintain 23-40 FPS which is good, but all those games are only good looking, there is nothing really exceptional in them.

I remember Final Fantasy 7 turned the entire gaming universe upside down because the visual level of the game for those times was stunning, and the game was really sucking you in with the story that actually lasted a few CDs cuz it was rather large, and the game was really fun and enjoyable.

When was the last time you felt something like that ? I sure didn't feel that for a very long time, I always felt bad when I was checking the space taken on some games DVDs, sometimes a lot of space was left, such a waste of space, could have been used for longer story, deeper plot, more places to go to.

In my opinion, if a game disk is not completely filled, it's a fail, the space available is wasted, even if the game is good looking and has many good qualities, even if it's on DVD9 or a BD50/90/120 and not completely full, that space could have been used for more content, and I feel bad for consoles not being used to their full potential with lack of real content.
