Releasing July, 2011 in the US. What's so special about this game? Is it a VN?

I posted about Catherine in this thread
http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=27136.0

Catherine is half puzzel game during the nightmare sections of the game and half, umm, making choices during the storyline? Something like that :P

It is a game that got patched due to being too hard. ^^

I heard the people complaining about the difficulty were just terrible at puzzel games =P

I tried the game, but it was indeed a bit hard. I can't say much about the story, I don't understand Jap. But the puzzle part are quite fun (as long as you enjoy puzzle) but I'm pretty sure I missed most of the basic rules about how you move those bricks. I'll wait for the US release so at least I can understand the tutorial.

Still waiting for the info on whether the US version is dual audio or just english...
Also doesnt seem to be a collector's edition available from the looks of it.

It should be dual audio. They know we love Japanese audio and subtitles. Lol.

Seems like just an English dub from all the recent news.  Though, there is a collectors edition out for both the #60 version and the Ps3.  Should be out in 20 days, and I'm looking forward to it!
Huh?

The demo has me hooked.

Definitely picking this up.

I died like 6-7 times and this was the first 2 levels on easy.  Can't wait to get my ass handed to me on the harder puzzles.

Plus its SOOOOOOOOO cool, stylistically.

The way you interact with people is also great.  You respond via text messages, and in each response you have several lines you choose where you can choose what to say in each of those lines.  It seems your responses will tip you certain ways "morality" wise, which will affect the story, as well.

Check out the demo, its pretty cool.

Though it's obviously the engine persona 5 will run on, it's clearly a well thought out game.  The story is unlike any I've seen in any other games.

I'd recommend the demo before knocking it.

Well, the game comes out tomorrow. I have read a lot of the reviews and they (actually) really like the game. So if all goes well, I'll pick up my copy and help make this game a best seller (and hopefully make other Japanese developers start shipping games to the States).

I wouldn't count on other publishers bringing new stuff to the States, but it will certainly encourage Atlus.

Atlus and NIS are a godsend in this time of few Japanese games.

I'll buy it purely because it is Atlus... that... and I want Persona 5 so badly. Catherine will be like Persona 4.5 or 4.7... with puzzles.

If persona 5 follows the trend of the series (with each installment being even better than the last), we'll have a lot to look forward to.

Watched a live stream of this and damn the game looks awesome, but why puzzles... WHYYYYYYYYYYY???

I want to get the game but if I do something in my home will be broken after a few hours, I cant stand stupid puzzle shit. Wish it was more of a platform/hack and slash game, like Vincent running around in his boxers hitting stuff with that damn pillow. Probably would have been goty for me then =/
Dont know what to put here

I'm glad it's puzzles.

Then again, I'm the type of person who enjoyed portal more than half-life.
