It just put's you back on the metro start screen. Nothing's much different. Doesn't seem to be worth it.

Not really no...there's a bunch of changes though they're not immediately apparent.

you can actually download and install windows8 for free from Microsoft website, its legal but has a 10day trial limit without the serial key.

With a Start Menu program it feels pretty much like a faster booting Windows 7. Wasn't a bad deal when it was like $15, anyway.

To be honest I think the tile view would have worked if it were designed around a start menu size and focused on categories, rather than take over the screen every time you want to open a new app. The emphasis on tablet-like scrolling really reduces it's efficiency.
