Does Classic Shell restore Aero? I explored the Classic Shell site but couldn't find any info on that. I really like Aero, to the point where if I can't get it on 8 when I get a new laptop, I'll wipe it for 7, even if 8 has all kinds of optimizations and improvements and such.

Honemi:
You'll have to use Aero Glass for Windows 8.

You can also try some of the shell themes floating around for Windows 8.

I didn't know Microsoft removed Aero until recently. Apparently they did it to reduce power consumption and chose not to include it for desktops. I guess it is to be expected since Wintel is pushing mobile computing to the exclusion of everything else.

Freedom Kira:
I still have yet to see a skin mimic Aero perfectly, or at least reasonably well. If the screenshot in the link you provided is representative of how it looks, it doesn't do a very good job. All it really does is make the title bar translucent and add some glow to the text in it. Aero in 7 is a bit more involved than that.
