The article even states that Apple is going to be spending about 7.8 billion on Samsung SSDs for the Macbook Air if I read it right. I think Steve Jobs is full of it and since the success of the Ipod, Steve has grown an ego so big I couldn't even destroy it with a bomb.

Should have watched the 90s battles. AFAIK, Blackberry got in a big beef with some shitty patent where someone probably scribbled on a napkin "Phone with internet and shit like that".

True, but I see it more like strategic bullying to keep people from copying them. HTC is fine, but pissing off the supplier isn't smart.

I find the whole technology industry hilarious when it comes to suits because EVERYTHING is pretty much copied from everyone else. There's really no one company that comes up with any of this stuff. I also find it humorous whenever Apple comes up with a suit since they've always been the worst offenders (Xerox/PARC anyone?).

Tablet computing has been around forever, but Jobs will still get money out of this because it's always cheaper to settle.

Meh, one of these days Steve Jobs will have a good look at the GUI Windoze uses and fireworks will go off in his head, that is when you will really see the poo fly.

I've seen the interface that the original 'Apple Mac' used and the Windoze GUI is *so* similar it's not funny.

Look for screen shots of the two different GUI's and you will see what I mean.

From memory the first 'Apple Mac' was literally a 'beige box' that had the screen built into it and the OS was 'on chip', not like the early Windoze that needed DOS in order to even work.

Speaking of original, reminds me of en epic failure that OS classic was. The shit was so hopeless that Apple realized that unlike Microsoft they had no skills in making their own OS, so they resorted to Linux.

GUI and icons... pretty much the maximum extent of Apple's capabilities when it comes to making an OS

Back on topic: Asians have always copied the shit that is first made in the west, where all groundbreaking innovation and inventions are made. So nothing new here.

Steve Jobs already did years ago, and sparks did fly. That's the reason why Microsoft had to change the name to 'Recycle Bin' instead of 'Trash Bin'.

apple sure does know how to ruin itself doesnt it? make an enemy to a globally godlike company = goodbye bussiness

samsung holds almost majority of technology manufacturing from dram chips to lcd displays, make a mess with that and you`d be getting inferior products from other manufacturers. in shorter terms, apple is gonna get ugly, literally.

samsung could even drive their connections that have connections on apple to get disconnected, by waging twice the profit for apple's disconnection. who wouldnt want a better alliance over the world's largest electronics company? it`ll make you more profit than clinging to a half-hearted company like apple.

if i`d mention that samsung could just buy apple's company then it`ll be like nuking an ant out of irritation.

speaking of nukes, samsung could even buy a nuke and nuke apple off the map tho that'll be illegal.

Samsung wont stop selling to apple because they will lose money by doing that. Apple knows this too. They just want to make fast money.

thats why samsung has the option of just buying apple and kicking out steve jobs off the chair.

with samsung's huge production lines, i doubt they'd lose more than half of their profit when they seriously cut off apple.

Edit: if by any chance samsung does buy apple, apple products may change abit but who wouldnt wanna have an apple product for 1/4th it`s original price? you know how samsung does it
