is it just me, or is this anime is a case of adaptation decay? the first two eps weren't exactly spectacular.
EDIT: i felt it lacked HSQ and was like watching Deadman Wonderland all over again.
Is the manga really that awesome?

Trust me, keep watching. This is one of those animes that starts out slow but keeps escalating until it gets pretty epic at the end.
What made the manga go from good (due to the inherent awesomeness of a yandere murdering scores of people) to AMAZING was the ending. It's a MASSIVE mindfuck. And it's comparable to the Fight Club mindfuck, where it makes you see the entire anime differently (no, Yuno is not a figment of Yuki's imagination. ;D)
Also, if you're worried about how much of a pussy Yuki is in these first episodes, he does eventually man up.
There isn't adaptation decay, I actually am loving the anime.
The anime has actually been adding more and more small clues about the ending that weren't present in the manga. It's pretty enjoyable seeing these hints, because they're so subtle you wouldn't realize their meaning unless you have read the manga.
I haven't watched deadman wonderland so I have no comments on that.
If you want to read the manga so you can get to the good bits, go ahead, it's on BakaBT already. I guarantee that after reading it you'll want to watch the anime.

I'm a little surprised that none of you have speculated on the bodies in the room yet. Like, where they came from, who killed them, who are they, etc.
That's the biggest mystery atm in the anime.

I do wonder about it every time I think about this show, I have my suspicions, but nothing solid.
