Maid/Cosplay Cafe's question ... out of pure curiosity ...

Hate to point out the obvious, but it's probably going to be the other way around. Since its so unusual asking employees to dress up as maids and behave in that manner they're probably going to expect above minimum wage. Then there's the security overhead costs, and whilst you can save some money on rent by having it just out of town, in order to cover all those costs you're gonna have to end up with a bigger mark up on the stuff you sell. Basically, its not going to be broke 15 year old's making the trek for a place they can't afford. I see this sort of thing all the time (our town centre has a good 30 odd pubs or something stupid). The further from the centre and the more expensive it becomes, the older the regulars. Atmosphere doesn't mean a bloody thing.

Oddly enough, I remember having dinner at a restaurant in Regina, Saskatchewan about 30 years ago where waitresses were wearing French maid outfits.
The dinner setting was very formal, intricate, high-class.
There was a lot of cleavage being displayed at a time where showing cleavage wasn't really in style for women's fashion.
It made quite an impression on my late, shy, introverted teenage years :)

I;m not planning to be a scrounge, i'm fed up with employers like that and it's reason why I want to start a business that has a grand potential, it would be a lot of work of curse but then again if I planned this properly it will bring me a lot of income, so it all is left in planning.
why would it have to be expensive if the plan would have things not that expensive, and planned to have a lot of customers ? it only goes to planning and locations.

oh I remember something similar, i also remember the prices weren't that high, and the mood was brilliant, atmosphere was excellent, and when I was in Japan in one of those cafe's I felt really overjoyed and it wasn't actually all the echii, most maids were in short dresses to knees and others had the long dress to ankles, the amount of guests was really large, I;d say, if I land in that cafe again next year i'm gonna have a chat with the owner for tips :)

I managed to find out that there is a rather small one about 40mins from where I live now. Right in the middle of what many locally call Mini Asia due to the high number of Asian populace living in the suburb. Great place to go and now even better... Cause its actually 500m down the road from my uni. >_<
Havoc10K:
oh, I think En will stop by there from time to time to relax after uni hahah :D
well that is good news, all the more reason to start such business :)
