Basically all I do have atm is Lucky Star and Angel Beats.
That said, what I do have works like a dream (using Rockplayer, since the default Android player is useless). It's a great way to pass the time, though the battery dies after 3 or 4 episodes unless I have it plugged in somewhere (luckily most long distance trains seem to have power sockets for charging phones/laptops nowadays. Less good in cars though).

I used to like rockplayer alot because it supported alot of formats. Then I found Dice Player which actually plays 720p h264 mkv files and even lets you choose audio/subtitle tracks. Sorry rockplayer, but I've found a new love ;)

Rockplayer is capable of playing 720p video too, AFAIK. It lags too much to really be watchable on my phone, but my phone's slow, so Dice Player would almost certainly be the same. Does it support typesetting in ASS subs, or does it just treat it all as plain text (like some other players)? If so, it might be worth me getting it, since it does seem pretty nice.
mikansei1439:
it can read the subs from .ass format but i dont remember if it styles them differently from standard text; dont get me wrong, i loved rockplayer because it worked sometimes while default player supported absolutely nothing lol. However, there are times rockplayer would open an mkv and move like 10fps with no audio while those same videos actually work in dice player XD
Honestly, I used to use rockplayer for mp4, avi and wmv and yxplayer for mkv, and arcMedia for some avi which would have inverted colors on rockplayer... but now i only have to use one player ;)
Edit: oh dice player I hardly knew ye! Looking around I found something called mx videoplayer that fully supports .ass and runs videos much smoother on top of that cuz it has software codecs for arm v7. Looks like I found my new player

Ooh, now that's a nice find, looks like I've found my new player too :D
It's surprising, a few months ago there were basically no decent video players for Android at all, but now there seem to be several.

i already stated that on another topic, well the part that android is now an all around gadget.

that is including surfing the net, playing movies, using it as a juke-box, using it as a flashlight, etc.
the only most notable things that his android couldn't do is stay alive for a week without recharging and make him breakfast.
