Final Fantasy Type-0 [PSP]
« on: April 26, 2011, 02:23:37 PM »
Seems like a new FF is heading to PSP. It's releasing in Japan first. More information through the link and you can also search VG247 for additional information on it.

Screen Shots. Site is in Japanese (Famitsu)

hmm, I hate thinking that buying a handheld console for a few games (i would have like 4 games on PSP) is a reason for me to buy it, but If I had the console I would wait for this, I am however still awaiting for a real FF Tactics games return, I just miss FFT/A/A2 and played them recently, but a new game (possibly on PS3/PC...Possibly very PC) would be a very very welcome to me.

Tactics Ogre: Let US Cling Together is an excellent tactics game. Better than FFT remake.

but it's not on PC, I don't want to buy a console for a few games you know, they should make games like this for PC players as well.

Psp isnt really that expensive. I like rpgs and I bought the psp so I could play them. All the old FF games, Star oceans, persona 1 and 3 jean d arc ff tactics and a bunch more. My only problem I find is that since I only play psp at home I tend to spend more time on ps2 / ps3 if I play something that isnt on the pc.
Isnt this the  Final fantasy game they annouced like 3 years ago? It seems like when final fantasy 13 was announced it was announced as ff13 a psp game and then VS 13. Is this the final fantasy game that goes with  that or a different FF game altogether?

Yeah but they changed the title on the psp game recently (was called FF Agito or something).

And personally I think the PSP is a great console if you like jrpgs. Handheld games usualy sell better then others in Japan so they make tons of games for it but we dont see all of them in the US/EU.
Dont know what to put here

As long as it retains some of the old mechanics of FF, I'll be happy.

IMO. FFXIII was an abomination to the FF series. Mainly cuz it was like a movie with terrible fighting mechanisc (the hell happened to the original system like FFII and stuff)

for now... for now... I would make them do it for PSP/PC/PS2/PS3 (yeah, cuz I love the series)

at any rate, VP games are a must for any JRPG fan.

Everything in FFXIII was good except two things. The feelings were "too straight forward" rather than having them deeply hidden and spoiled out when you encounter them (like in FF7). The second thing is the game so-did-NOT feel like the other FF games ... where you can go to towns, explore random areas, have MORE paths and options to select.

In the regard to the FF style of the game, FF9 and 9 were the last that actually did have it, FF10 didn't really have the traveling unless you took a walk (same with FFX-2/FF12).
If we talk about a real traveling mechanic it stopped at FF9 where you had an airship or a chocobo.

I also agree that FF series gameplay in combat stops and becomes more like DMC style, it stopped at FFX-2, but still had that charm in FF12, although there was no class specific stuff in it there were spells and abilities you could use to your hearts content.

I would so much prefer FF6/7 style to return though, Class specific style from FF 6(and X-2 where each dress sphere had only class specific abilities) and deep gameplay of FF7 and 6, the story was damn long and so interesting you couldn't just stop at the save point.

Well I loved FFXII, but that was probably because although it didn't have the whole, "zomfghugeworldtoexp lorewithairship" feel, each individual location was extremely vast and felt like a "mini map" within the large world.

But yeah, I absolutely loved FF IX, mainly cuz of the chocobo hunts :P and VII as well, I was a freaking master at the whole "breed the best chocobo" side stuff

Though I do admit blitz ball from FFX was probably more entertaining than the game itself... lol (had the friggin most pimped out team ever)

I personally like to keep my PSP totally updated, and buy all of my games. I got the God of War games, Crisis Core and Dissidia. I've also bought old psx games like Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy VII-IX, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Vagrant Story. I just like to support Sony's (or whoever is doing it) effort into bringing old psx games onto the PSP. Sure, just use an emulator, but that's too much hassle for me to geek around with it.

Though I must admit to only getting something played when I travel which is not often. I usually don't touch it when I am home. I got my laptop and TV to keep me entertained.

As for the game, interested though unsure if it's something I'll like. I think it's going to be somewhat Crisis Core like which was a combat I liked.
