Sony Tablet - S1 and S2
« on: April 26, 2011, 02:28:11 PM »
Sony Tablet - S1 and S2. Click the video in the link and hit the HD button (for better quality). Looks pretty interesting. You can compare it to iPad, but this'll feature PS games it looks like.

The one con I see so far is pressing the buttons while playing the game ...

As a Sony guy I'm waiting with baited breath. I'd love to play with the tablets though.
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

Never thought of that! Would be an excellent feature to add.

I quite dislike that... the point of a tablet is to make everything on-screen touch-interactive. Using it as a controller for something on another screen is a pretty bad idea, since the "buttons" are not tactile. Being frequently distracted from the main screen to check a secondary screen is not exactly a good thing in the case of PS games. It's already tough enough to focus on two screens on the DS.

Now, if you can hook up a PS3 controller, as suggested above, that'd be nice.

The controller is probably heavier than the tablet itself. Also, PS games ported to Android aren't exactly exciting.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

I was a Sony boy as my dad brought everything Sony. I did the same till now. I'm sorry but the quality of everything sony has dropped tremendously. The Tvs, the phones, the laptops (even the PS3 didnt have a good execution compared to the PS1 and PS2). I am skeptical. It will prolly be over-priced as usual. Wack on an extra 100-200 £.

I agree that if I buy one I'd likeky be disappointed (Sony fanboy), but I also think that the S2 is just so awesome. I'd rather have that then the S1 actually (both would be better though).

I just saw the annoucement for this earlier. Im interested in it but alot depends how cost and how effectively they work. Im interested in the fact you can play ps1 titles. I wonder if you can use your exsisting playstation id for the tablets. I would hate to have to rebuy all the ps1 classics I already purchased if I was going to use something like this.
