Author Topic: Should i buy a PS3 (Read 2274 times)

I've been thinking of buying a PS3 so i can play with my sister and some friends but im worried that Sony will come out with a new console within the next year or so and the PS3 will be out dated. What should i do?

Nintendo has already announced and will be showing their new console at this years E3.

I doubt we will see a new playstation console for at least 2 more years. Maybe updates to the current ps3 but not a whole new system. I mean the current system still has alot of stuff it can do plus it can already play blu ray content. Neither xbox or wii can do that so they will have to probably update themselves much sooner in order to use that unless they do a completly unique medium but then that seems pointless. As far as buying one I have Wii Ps3 and Xbox 360 and by far the ps3 is my favorite of the systems. I also likes that it doubles a blu ray player so if I wanted to watch something with it I could.

I would agree, the PS3 still has at least 2 more years in it even though Sony planned to support the PS3 until 2015. Expect a new Playstation 6 months to a year after Nintendo and Microsoft release their new consoles.

Alright lets hope for that. My brother who also has a PS3 says that game developers still havent untapped the PS3s true potential so im hoping they will still keep the system for many years to come.

I seriously doubt it... the Wii was $300 at release... the PS4 will for sure be a $600 product.

Another 3 years for our consoles? Sweet, that's at least 2 more Killzones... 2 more Uncharteds... and we might get Mass Effect 4 & 5 as well. Hell, maybe even Elder Scrolls VII.

Which makes me wonder... why has Square not remade Final Fantasy VII yet? Are they retards? Do they not understand that they do not need the whole team back together to redo a game... higher some poor programmers and artists and do it off of the PSone title! They would make millions off that game... yet they would rather choose to redo Final Fantasy IV like... 4 times.

Is there even going to be a PS4 considering how much money Sony lost?

PS3 is going to still be around for a long time. 2 Years easy. They've just released their motion and that's probably what caused wii to decide to release another console as it no longer is individual, they most likely will give the new console 1080p, as the graphics on the wii look terrible.

The only time I've ever used a Wii-mote is when there isn't enough Gamecube controllers for the 4 way Smash fights... usually first loser has to take it. Motion this or you're the controller that crap isn't good enough. We need holographic consoles now. hahah

PS3 can do 3D i know that much. Next nintendo console will be in 1080p and the controller is suppose to have a 7in HD screen in it that you can switch the video to the controller wirelessly and the controller will be 720p. Thats what i've heard at least.

ya it requires you to have a 3D TV and glasses. Like Crysis 2 has a 3D option in the Video settings.

Does a 3dtv actually have different hardware? I have one.

Im not 100% i Imagine a 3D TV is a 3D TV just need to get the glasses and you might be set. I play on my monitor myself so i dont really know much about TVs.
