It's completely unrealistic and pretty stupid.

No aim-assist on PC, so you have to aim at guy before you zoom in. On consoles you just aim sort-of at the guy and when you zoom the game aims for you. CS doesn't help noobs, MW2 and pals do, A key difference. and sometimes short scoping sessions get called quick scoping, but they are not really the same.

There's also the hilarious phenomenon of quick scopers looking down on normal snipers by calling them "hard scopers".
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

YEAH, I've actually heard this before and I think it's quite funny... I'm just thinking to myself "Well, at least I'm not cheap and have an automatic weapon with NO recoil." :P

Single shot weapons often have more recoil then any automatic gun in games. You would think that the single shot would be more accurate and have less recoil.

Not technically... an automatic has a bolt that also lessens the recoil, but yes... spraying a full clip of an automatic will have a TON of recoil. On the flip side, the L96 that's in Black Ops is a .338 Lapua round (8.58 mm versus the next largest caliber in the game which is a 7.62mm) does have some deadly recoil in the real world.

Single shot weapons often have more recoil then any automatic gun in games. You would think that the single shot would be more accurate and have less recoil.

I hate the bolt action which takes forever.

Time hopes to appeal to Modern Warfare 3′s demographic with faux magazine cover.

Speaking with the New York Times, the magazine’s publisher, Kim Kelleher, said that after careful consideration, Activision was given permission to use the magazine’s cover style; however, it’s clearly a marketing move designed to nab the attention of Modern Warfare 3′s demographic, especially with print’s popularity slowly eroding in Internet age.

“This is where the boys are,” said Kelleher, Time’s publisher. “This is a great way to connect with millions of people we might not have otherwise connected with.

“I like the concept of Time being a related brand of something that’s happening in 2030. That makes me happy.”

“I see this as a similar idea in a different medium — a medium that is one of the biggest entertainment franchises of all time,” said Time’s managing editor, Richard Stengel.

I wanna see the whole cover... but then again, it might actually scare some people at first from the cover.

Just gonna say, I've always loved CoD (though mainly zombies after CoD4...) but this ELITE thing basically made me go "CoD, I r disappoint"

Not buying the game, going for BF3

Battlefield has always been better (as far as shootan goes, not really my forte)
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

Battlefield 1942, 2, Vietnam(sorta) has always been better (as far as shootan goes, not really my forte), but Bad Company one and two were just as much of sellouts as MW2.

Fixed. And I liked WaW and BO over Modern Warfare. I think Treyarch made a better OVERALL package while Modern Warfare (original) had the best multiplayer only. MW2's only was basically the same with no real changes. I'm only in love with zombies (see to the left and below for proof).

EDIT: Does anyone have the video that was leaked of the Beta Survival mode?

Modern Warfare 3 team has a “lot” of Infinity Ward “lifers”.

Yes, because Mr. Publishing CEO who used to do advertising and marketing work is so trust-able.

Does Activision seriously think people are that dumb?

Yeah, the two main guys who did MW never worked on MW2, right?

For some reason, I feel that most of the type of people who play COD are not the type to read at all.

Hehe, yeah right. Maybe the hardcore GAMER crowd doesn't appeciate Activision... but at the same time, the casual CoD player/the massive amount of hardcore WoW players defend their games to the death. Every other shooter is compared to CoD (sorry Halo, you are too unique as a shooter) and every MMO is compared to Blizz. Saying that you don't get credit is almost DUMB. Not only do you get the best selling games and most played games on consoles, but you have billions of dollars of cash flow from WoW. Why complain about being stale? Afraid you are going to get taken over? (BF3 and SW:TOR respectively)

Im not sure why people love CoD so much Battlefield is clearly superior in every way. I played WoW for 3 years and it was fun but it got boring and i ended up stopping but it does set a standard for all MMOs out there. I think people compare things to CoD because it doesnt take as much skill as Battlefield so it will attract more people because its easier to play especially kids. People wonder why i dont use my mic its because i dont wanna hear 10 year olds screaming into the mic and talking shit. Play Battlefield a game that takes skill.

The last great Battlefield was BF2 back in 2005. CoD:4 filled that gap between modern day military shooters and brought a lot of fans from CoD 1, 2, & 3. It's easier because it's more arcady, but by no means makes it easy to MASTER. There are people who can consistently get 20+ kills without ever going under 1.5 KDR. You may think it takes no skill to get a high amount of kills, but trust me. Consistency is harder than just one match of getting 30+ kills. After only a month after release, I got 33 kills with only 4 deaths. Never again since then (and I've been playing BO since then) have I been able to break that 30 mark. I average from 10-20 kills while I occasionally get into the high 20's. Although, killing lanes are predictable and the places to get the most kills rarely change. The only map where I have seen killing lanes significantly change is Array... no one uses the sniper tower or that area at all really except for CTF games. The Battlefield series on the other hand, is completely un-predictable where killing lanes are/will be. This will obviously be an advantage that BF3 has over MW3. Skill will definitely play a bigger factor in BF3 versus MW3's predictability of past matches on a certain map.

Obviously, no one can deny what WoW is and what standard it sets. Anyone who thinks otherwise should... well... rethink their position.

On the other hand, one CAN deny what is for men and what is for children. Sadly, BF2 was rated Teen but had more adults and older teens playing it (myself included at the time) than MW 1&2 Mature rating but still attracted so many kids to playing the game. It's a bit of a disconnect, and a lot of parents are at fault for letting their kids get CoD... Besides that fact, do I believe BF3 will be for men and MW3 be for kiddies? Absolutely not, I will enjoy MW3's survival mode and multiplayer just as much as I will enjoy BF3's multiplayer. The only thing that I think will make BF3 a head AND shoulder above MW3 is if it had a survival and/or zombies-like mode... WITH VEHICLES!

Well i do agree it is hard to get a high KD:R in CoD. As you can see from my Sig i play Battlefield Bad company 2, I really enjoy the game and maintain a 2.0+ KD:R.
