Hehe, yeah right. Maybe the hardcore GAMER crowd doesn't appeciate Activision... but at the same time, the casual CoD player/the massive amount of hardcore WoW players defend their games to the death. Every other shooter is compared to CoD (sorry Halo, you are too unique as a shooter) and every MMO is compared to Blizz. Saying that you don't get credit is almost DUMB. Not only do you get the best selling games and most played games on consoles, but you have billions of dollars of cash flow from WoW. Why complain about being stale? Afraid you are going to get taken over? (BF3 and SW:TOR respectively)
Im not sure why people love CoD so much Battlefield is clearly superior in every way. I played WoW for 3 years and it was fun but it got boring and i ended up stopping but it does set a standard for all MMOs out there. I think people compare things to CoD because it doesnt take as much skill as Battlefield so it will attract more people because its easier to play especially kids. People wonder why i dont use my mic its because i dont wanna hear 10 year olds screaming into the mic and talking shit. Play Battlefield a game that takes skill.
Battlefield is for men, Call of Duty is for Children
Im sure we have all seen this quote and it is true.
The last great Battlefield was BF2 back in 2005. CoD:4 filled that gap between modern day military shooters and brought a lot of fans from CoD 1, 2, & 3. It's easier because it's more arcady, but by no means makes it easy to MASTER. There are people who can consistently get 20+ kills without ever going under 1.5 KDR. You may think it takes no skill to get a high amount of kills, but trust me. Consistency is harder than just one match of getting 30+ kills. After only a month after release, I got 33 kills with only 4 deaths. Never again since then (and I've been playing BO since then) have I been able to break that 30 mark. I average from 10-20 kills while I occasionally get into the high 20's. Although, killing lanes are predictable and the places to get the most kills rarely change. The only map where I have seen killing lanes significantly change is Array... no one uses the sniper tower or that area at all really except for CTF games. The Battlefield series on the other hand, is completely un-predictable where killing lanes are/will be. This will obviously be an advantage that BF3 has over MW3. Skill will definitely play a bigger factor in BF3 versus MW3's predictability of past matches on a certain map.
Obviously, no one can deny what WoW is and what standard it sets. Anyone who thinks otherwise should... well... rethink their position.
On the other hand, one CAN deny what is for men and what is for children. Sadly, BF2 was rated Teen but had more adults and older teens playing it (myself included at the time) than MW 1&2 Mature rating but still attracted so many kids to playing the game. It's a bit of a disconnect, and a lot of parents are at fault for letting their kids get CoD... Besides that fact, do I believe BF3 will be for men and MW3 be for kiddies? Absolutely not, I will enjoy MW3's survival mode and multiplayer just as much as I will enjoy BF3's multiplayer. The only thing that I think will make BF3 a head AND shoulder above MW3 is if it had a survival and/or zombies-like mode... WITH VEHICLES!
