Yeah, I heard the rumor last week from a friend. I was (shockingly) surprised. Though, thinking about it, we could have predicted this. But it's weird isn't it?
COD --> COD2 --> COD3 --> MWF --> WAW --> MWF2 --> BO --> MWF3?

starting with MWF it went GREAT, CRAPPY(more or less), GREATER, CRAPPY(mixed reviews), GREATEST?

Multiple websites say it will be released in November-December timeframe... same exact time that Black Ops was released. Sadly, I know this version will *not* have zombies (unless otherwise noted, in which case... AWESOME), but will probably have a really strong online focus. I think it would be cool if they could have zombies maps on all the multiplayer maps (with all the added barriers, gun locations, random box, and hell hounds!), but I'm not expecting it since this one is being made by IF instead of Treyarch.

Here's to hoping!

EDIT:

WaW and BO had zombies... with which made one or two maps redeem the entire game. WaW was fun, but the storyline isn't as fun as the MWF's... Black Ops on the other hand was on the same level as MWF2 but was better because the storyline was great and had AWESOME zombie maps.

It shouldn't be a surprise. In their contract they are supposed to release one every year.
*Shrugs*
Did no one read the articles about the lawsuit that happened? It stated what the clauses of their contract was.
And bringing a game out every year was in there. lol
Kinda sucks for them I guess.

Just about every year around May the games that will be coming out in Winter are slated to be revealed.
Anyone read Gameinformer? lol

Please don't bring up a discussion, heard more than enough about that.

I personally thought they were all good. World at War wasn't as good as Infinity Ward's games, but Treyarch made that right by releasing Black Ops. I'm hoping this will be the last Modern Warfare game though with a proper conclusion. Not sure I'll like what they come up with next. Aren't they going after Makarov in this game?

Seems it might be a prequel according to some sites.

Wasn't trying to bring anything up.
It was for a simple answer of yes or no.

But I do think you are right about Makarov.

I don't think that will happen... So lose! lol

I think everyone will probably talk down on Mw3 but it won't matter.
Cause they will buy it anyway. I know a lot of ppl who talked shit about
BO and everyone I know still bought it.

Cause it's a good game? Hating on it doesn't instantly make it bad.

you skipped a couple in there and are only talking about the console games.

COD1 -> COD:uo |cod big red one is in there for consoles-> cod2 -> cod3(console)  -> COD4 MWF -> cod5 WaW -> mw2 -> black ops

nearly any good player from the begining of the series will agree that cod1 = trumps all cod4 second best
they slowly make guns more accurate have less recoil and do closer to the same damage as each game goes.
And make the maps shittier and shittier for PC competition, and continually focus the console games on having more purchasable DLC instead of releasing a more complete game from the start(this can be said of most games now)

Battlefield 3. 'nuff said.

You took the words out of my mouth.

Nothing can compete with Battlefields destructible environments unless a new CoD has them like Battlefield, CoD will be left in the dust.

not really they are 2 different styles of game play.

BF has larger maps more players, its like saying ferrari is in trouble because the new corvette is only 60k

True i agree they are different play styles but people always compare them and of course i go on the defensive with Battlefield being superior. If you looking for a mix of the two Homefront is a good choice.

I agree. I know a lot of people who don't even play the campaign in any CoD games anymore.
