Dungeon Siege III
« on: May 10, 2011, 03:34:32 AM »
Have played the sequels before, not really a fan of multiple character control and skill up base on usage systems but this one looks different enough to warrent a try from me. Seems they have moved from the basic dungeon crawler to a more action based rpg (like what most rpg games are moving towards).

I've been to co-optimus and looks like this game promises local 2player co-op, though i'm not really sure if local 2 players can play online together with 2 other players (4 max online co-op). Would be great if its possible.

I'm still considering whether to get this on PC or PS3, would love to have a co-op game on ps3 but with dlc and all, i'd prefer PC.

IF PSN is back have your time with PS3 version, I'm a fan of this franchise, played all games thus far and enjoyed them all, online co-op sounds very fun :) can't wait to try it out :)

I'm most defintely getting it, its just that compared to the PS3, the PC would have more user support with regards to modding and twerking, fiddling with the game as with Oblivion and other RPG's like Fallout.
I'm worried if i opt for a PS3 version for the local co-op, i might be missing out on such added bonuses.

I'm pretty sure DLC won't be a problem for consoles, but co-op might be a problem, it all depends on how it's done, I for one knew there will be Dungeon Siege 3 before it was announced, this series is too good to be simply left out with 2 parts + expansions :)
This franchise has a lot of potential :)

This game reminds me of Baldur's Gate: Dark Allaince (and its less sequal). My brother and I played that game a lot. The co-op reminds me of that. I'm looking forward to it, but I can't aford the price.

took a peek at the preview, skills look decently, but is it just me or is enemy AI not very impressive ?

I remember playing the original game like this:

1. Lead the characters to a horde of monsters
2. Walk away, prepare a sandwich/get a drink
3. Come back, monsters dead
4. Press health/man/"collect loot" hotkeys
5. Repeat steps 1-4

The second game was more involved but some annoying bug kept me from enjoying it when the expansion was released.

I'm hoping the 3rd game has a more interesting story

I don't see there to be a demo, I only saw the trailers.

yeah the first game was generally like that, if you do things right you just do that, horde, take a piss, back horde dead, bosses were tougher in the second game, nonetheless it was also fun, I didn't play the expansion, it wasn't needed anyway, it should have been part of the original campaign.

The demo kinda hooked me so I will likely buy the game in a few months, I already know there are a few annoying errors in the release game so I will wait for a patch.
