Oh geez ... new MMO by Square-Enix
newy:
I don't know how the system's going be for the NA version of TERA but the European one will have a monthly fee (amount unknown as of yet). I'm definitely interested in it (especially because of the combat system!!!) but I think I'll wait for a few tests to see whether it's worth it and not an Asia grinder like Aion was for a while.

But WoW wasnt unique either.
Anyway, I might give it a shot, I have been a fan a Square-Enix for a long time now with their older games, cant say much about any of their MMOs tho, tbh.... But I have reservations about picking up another grind game so I will see how it looks when it drops.

but wow isnt turn based

Wow is actutally turned based. It just so happens it uses an active turned based system instead of a wait one. Just look at the way the combat log works. You use skills you swing attacks based on the stanad turn based system. The only diffference is its not like old turned based games where you are waiting on the enemy instead you are using an active battle system where you and your opponent each act out your turns without waiting on each other. Think about how autoattack works. You arent actually auto attacking. The game is just trigging the attacks based on your weapon speed ie when its your turn automatically.

except you can do things that arent auto attack that arent in the same timing.
Thats like saying that CoD is turn based because the guns fire at a set rate and each bullet you shoot is your turn... its active combat turned based blah blah blah

Even in KR retail it's still nothing compared to Aion. I'm currently playing Aion... Shortly there's an upcoming 2.5 patch which updates the graphics engine to what was shown in the Aion Vision trailer and adds additional content.
So far it seems a good between of WoW and Aion since I hit level 22 in a day as a Slayer and other players have said that it only takes around two weeks if you put in ~4 hours every day to hit level cap. There's a shit-ton of quests and many others can agree with that.
They're "westernizing" (includes minor censorship of the a certain class :-\) the game for NA/EU release and I guess part of that is decreasing the time it's needed to level and making it more accessible. I didn't even have a problem even with the game being in Korean, just click on whatever is blue on your quest log and it's on your map.

Square-Enix needs to stop making RPGs or MMOs or whatever and maybe consider moving into horror.
Or someone for that matter needs to create a proper horror game.
Also, it would be nice to find a game that helps to teach micro/macro management on maps of sorts. Something like "last guy" but more complex.
