I'll prolly not be getting a PS4 at launch as I'm a PC gamer(not here to hate or fight about it, everyone should enjoy the things in life that they like in the way they like etc), just wanted to say those GIFs look awesome. I might pick up a PS4 after it's been out for a while and there are some good exclusive fighting games or something of the like where I can use a stick or maybe racing games that allow a wheel. I'll not be playing FPS' or anything with a 'gamepad' or whatever you call a vanilla controller but I imagine there'll be some pretty dope fighters before long.

I just 'acquired' the Koihime Musou fighting game for PC but also available for PS3 and it looks better than the anime IMO. I'd also like to see some cool 2D/2.5D platformers hopefully with support for arcade sticks. Trine was cool though I'm not sure if it supports sticks as I lost my account and most of my PSN games a while back. Megaman 9 and Sonic 4 also seemed pretty cool. I guess I'm saying these are the things that would sell me on the PS4 more than it's power or slew of military shooters. I'm sure the main 'console market' feels differently but I think they could expand the market by pushing for more fighters and arcade-y games rather than a zillion shooters and sports games. I've been ready to give away my PS3 plenty of times if not for the blu-ray playback. It does a fine job of playing blu-rays and has a few nice exclusives that I enjoy. Otherwise it's pretty gimped, it just sits collecting dust.
Dunno what do you guys have against Windows 8... it just has a different start menu (fulscreen one). Otherwise it is same or better as before. - OnDeed

You sound like you feel duped getting a PS3.

Nah, it was a bday present from my pops right around launch. I spent nothing and it was pretty impressive at the time. I played a lot of PC games but the PS3 was really cool and I played more console games then. I will admit that the mouse n key thing pisses me off, I just don't see the reasoning behind it. Didn't that Unreal Tournament allow it? I didn't play it but I'd assume the mouselook worked nicely. Seems like a way to keep PC gamers from 'ruining' the online play... READ: Seems like a way to defend the gamepad fans from needing to change to a more appropriate control method.

Further the browser is a big joke and more trouble than it's worth IMO. The PSN's recent make over pisses me off. I just hate it now.... There aren't many(any?) AAA(read: big budget) 2D platformers available. There are quite a few XBLA games that I'd like to have and not nearly as many PSN games. Really the whole PSN/online thing didn't seem well thought-out... the chatroom shit was junky, message system was junky. It's understandable as it was *pretty much* the first generation to use such a system and hopefully it will be much more polished for the coming generation.

I'm not saying I haven't had any fun with the PS3, it's just that there aren't many games available that I'd like to play. Maybe I'm missing a whole slew of awesome games but if so they're sure flying LOW under the radar. I don't understand why they make games for PSP instead of making them for PS3 and then making shitty ports for PSP. Seems backwards when they make an 'HD' port for PS3 as it ends up looking(maybe even playing but not sure) like shit.

I'd like some Monster Hunters, 2D fighters, newer arcade game ports, schmups... As I've repeatedly said, 2D platformers. Shit, if they'd work out the mouse n key BS they could have RTS and CRPG type games. I'd love to be able to game on a PS4 to save my PC the trouble but I'd guess they're making a killing as it is and don't need to try anything too different.

It'll be interesting to see if the new vita comes with any extra support for the PS4, that the original doesn't have.

Yakuza Ishin, and Suda51's (at least his company's) Lily Bergamo are coming to Playstation 4, Yakuza as a launch title in Japan.

Tokyo Game Show looks encouraging.

Looks like Japan will be getting their official launch of the PS4 AFTER NA and Xbone.

PS4 is getting Japanese games. Gundam, Guilty Gears (I think?) and whatever else they're making for it. Sales are going to rocket high in Japan.

Can I just freaking get my system please? I wonder how amazing the graphics will look like.

What conceivable reason do they have to rush? Nintendo, their only real competition objectively, already released their console a while ago. Really, the PS3 is a bigger obstacle at this point with all the late-end Japanese titles they've got coming, getting Japanese gamers to upgrade to a PS4 will require a better incentive than Knack.

They've got a lot more pressure to keep the Vita relevant against the 3DS, thus all the recent announcements.

Press Conference in Japan. This is where they announced the new hardware. PS Vita2 looks about good. Will wait for that. Then MAYBE they will release a Hatsune Miku version of it!

That's very smart, if they can get around the ban.

Nintendo's been doing well with the version of the 3DS they made specifically for China, if I recall correctly.

This is interesting, there's a bigger gap between the PS4 and XB1 than I was thinking.

I really hate the idea that devs are going to undercut PS4 games to make things easier for their X-Box One releases.

Honestly if you really want to just get the bleeding edge performance wise out of some games you're going to have to go Desktop gaming. I think the PS4 will run everything relatively smoothly while there will probably be hiccups in the Xbox's gameplay. Personally to circumvent this I want to buy a PS4 and buy games that I'll play on it and will be perfectly fine with no real problems, But some I'll just play on my desktop and admittedly there might be one or two games that crossover and I may have a copy for both my PS4 and desktop. But I'm really ok with that idea. Also a lot of games would be older ones, i.e. Left 4 Dead and Left 4 dead 2 both of these games aren't and probably will never be on PlayStation, There is also rumors of Left 4 Dead 3 which may see a PS4 release but It'll probably just get it for PC. Although it could be one I own two copy's of if it is released for PS4 as well.
