I like the modular nature of the parts inside the PS4.

It is very neat inside with no cables dangling about.

Almost all ram chips placed such so the length of traces on the PCB are matched: the distance electrons have to travel affects timings.
GDDR5 have much higher latency than normal DDR3 but also higher bandwidth. Suitable for GPU use.
DDR3 have less latency(tighter timings) but also lower bandwidth. Suitable for CPU use.
