Oh, a question. How do you all console users stand the horribly high prices for the games? Their PC counterparts are often much cheaper. Plus I heard you need to pay mthly for season passes and the such.

I doubt you'll find that many all-console users here. And to answer your questions: The tradeoff you get is fairly high visual quality without the need to pay the extra in hardware. Of course there's exclusives as well, and prices drop fairly fast for console titles (at least for the ones that I want). You don't need mnthly season passes for individual games, but with this iteration you need to have PS+, which then gives you access to MP and an extensive game library, which usually is worth more than the 50€/year that you pay.

I get what you mean. Upgrading macs with those newfangled graphic cards are neigh impossible. (Stuck with apple's motherboard which stupidly solders the damn Radeon to it.) <Plus I can't change the second slot to a titan cause of incompatibility issues.

Make a new built instead of buying the new Mac Pro and install Mac OS on it. Simple. Once installed its smooth and there is no difference in usage. Hell if you make a high end build it will exceed the Mac pros. 'Onest

I would do that in a heartbeat if I could. But my stupid school, in its infinite wisdom, decided to have a OSX based environment. All the rendering servers/virtual rooms/com sharing are configured to mac OS. So here I am, paying thousands for shiny little boxes with shitty hardware when I can get a supercomputer on windows. It makes me soooo mad sometimes.

^ Plus I have to buy another MacPro next mth too. (Well at least I get 25% off for anything.)

^some parts of it is custom coded (I asked the IT ppl on my side and they said it was never happening. And they heck aren't giving me the source code)

I'm quite sure my school just wants us to suffer. Likely something along the lines of:

Oooh! Look its aspiring art students! All they have to do is animate stuff and they get paid plus they even get a OP computer for it too! Y'know what! Lets all make their life horrible by forcing them to use mac!

May I ask which school it is?

Cause they are making decisions that I consider silly. (Why pay more when you can get better for less?)

I might consider buying a PS4 when there are more games on it and when the price drops, or when slimmer version comes out.
