I would sooner get two of the 8GB Sniper than one of the 12GB Ripjaws, especially since your board is more likely dual channel than triple channel.

DDR3 is standard. If your AMD mobo supports DDR3 RAM, then yes, it will work. You only really have to watch out for Apple RAM, which I don't understand at all.

yea it should be able to run on an amd rig.

yea the sniper is a low voltage ram, meaning you could save more electricity, and it runs cooler plus so far there haven't been any bad reviews at all about the sniper, which is a good thing.

the price difference is about 7.5$ in total though if you want to compare. sniper 38.5$ perstick || g.skill 36$ per stick.
