They are not, we're pretty middle class. However you want to determine that.
Anyway, I've already got a monitor. Is a single GTX 590 going to be able to handle most games?
I play SCII and some older war sim games, but I'd like to be able to play Battlefield 3 at reasonable settings.
Or I could just buy it here again. Could someone please tell me exactly how much they are overcharging for the hardware?

I doubt 2k would get you a 30' system, a u3011 alone is around ~1.3k.

Get a 3007 WFP-HC since it has lower input lag and they can be found for ~$700 in mint condition. Only complaint I'd have with it is that the AG coating is pretty aggressive as in it's sparkly / muddy on white backgrounds. I got used to it, but eh, at first I wanted to return it, but you don't see it it all on other colors.
