Havoc10K:
Hunted - The Demons Forge
The dark ages have become corrupted. Heinous creatures have emerged from underground. Townsfolk are disappearing.
Upon the promise of their fortune in gold, two mercenaries have taken on the daunting task of finding out where the innocents have been taken and to stop the madness. Their journey will take them on a dark and twisted path where they will encounter vicious creatures, death and sacrifice. This path will lead them deep within the world of Kala Moor...and to the secrets of The Demon's Forge.
So, I have started playing this game, and although tehre are bugs and some small errors, this game is actually pretty good, and fun.
Characters:
E'lara - An expert marksman and one of the few elves left in the world, E’lara lives to fight. She’s a thrill-seeker—rash and impulsive. She is also incredibly dangerous. Her people were slaughtered by the Minotaur when she was young and E’lara is one of the only ones who survived the massacre. But she’s learned not to dwell on her past, nor to waste much time worrying about her future. She lives entirely for that rush of adrenaline and the thrill of the moment. Or so she believes…
(click to show/hide)Personally, i love her, awesome archer, usually you play a game as an archer it's one of the smarter or at least more cautious character, not this girl, when you play as her, you will quickly learn what a real archer is all about.
Caddoc - A hulking warrior and deadly swordsman, Caddoc considers his mind to be one of his sharpest weapons. He is cool and cautious, always preferring to have a plan before he charges in... but he never hesitates when action is called for. An impulsive act he took as a youth cost him the life of his lover and he's vowed never to make such a mistake again. Now, he lives the detached life of a mercenary. He does the job, he takes his pay, he moves along. And he never, ever, gets emotionally involved. Not until now...
(click to show/hide)This guy is not your typical warrior as well, Smart, THINKING! cautious, and hates all sorts of bugs, he hates anything that can annoy him, very slow movement compared to E'lara, but very strong, some obstacles can be cleared only by him, while some only by E'lara, this guy is pretty sarcastic as well
Seraphine - appears to Caddoc as a muse in his dream; haunted by the mystery of her identity, he seeks to find an answer for the reoccurring dream, and the ominous feeling that overwhelms him. As Caddoc and E’lara explore the Fountain of Elisha, they come upon the spirit Seraphine. As beautiful as she is mysterious. (I cut out the rest of her description to avoid spoiling all the fun :))
(click to show/hide)Sexy, deadly, mmm just the type to avoid, literally, she is freaking me out, E'lara doesn't trust her one bit, and she has a point, when you start the game you will know why, she is very powerful and is very helpful, I still don't know what to think of her more than the fact that I completely don't trust her, she is much too deadly
All the above Spoilers are actually not spoiling, I just wanted to conserve space.
There are 3 weapon styles to choose from during the game:
Fast- rather small damage but when you shoot 2-3 arrows a second you don't worry about small damage dealt, you worry about not enough enemies to shoot at :)
Medium- moderate damage, fairly fast shot speed, around 1-2 per second, fairly good against standard speed enemies, they still die, just a bit slower, which gives them a chance to overwhelm E'lara. Fun too :)
Slow- Significantly larger damage than the previous modes, but very slow, every shot counts as the cooldown is around 3 seconds each, in this mode you will use abilities very often, pyro blast very often and that can drain your mana quickly, very good mode against very strong and armored enemies, and there are a lot of them further in the game.
Each mode requires different bow, and weapons from Weapon/Armor racks are completely random, sometimes you will get a piece of armor instead of a weapon, or sometimes it's not even your rack :)
All the modes actually apply to all characters, who simply use different weapons.
Weapon racks hold either weapons or armor, for any of the characters, completely random drop.
There are however epic and rare drops of gear, Epics you have to discover, rare sometimes drop from racks, enemies rarely drop a weapon, they often drop either a shield or a quiver of arrows for Caddoc or E'lara, and Yes, Caddoc can use arrows too, he has a crossbow, he doesn't use it often but sometimes he does, usually when enemies are out of reach or he just hides in cover.
Cover: Yes! there is proper cover, just like in ME1/2, once you hide, you have to choose to AIM to target enemies from cover, exposing yourself until you hide again, very good setup.
You can dash as well.
This game is a co-op ready, you can hook up and play with other players which is very fun.
GameSpy required though, at least no STEAM laggy network :P
The game has a feature that is very interesting, you can CREATE YOUR OWN DUNGEON and have fun in it or share it with other people and enjoy it, the game can do it for you automatically, or you can prepare every segment of it yourself, each segment can have up to 3 waves, and each wave can be different, depending on which enemies you have unlocked.
I have waited long for a proper Dungeon Exploration game, and it was here delivered :)
Enjoy guys, it's worth it :)
Edit:
ok, I am very disappointed with this game right now.
reason: why oh why it didn't show up sooner ? :D
Did I mention Unreal Engine ? awesome, I am mentioning now :)
