Can't imagine it going live without restrictions. What publisher wants to allow users to set up a game cartel where ten people get to enjoy every single title? I doubt developers are going to be able to rely on multiplayer completely to avoid the practicality of what a plan like that would open up.

That as a joke. Verizon wireless has a Family share plan where you can connect up to 10 "lines"......

I guess people didn't see the commercials. Also here it is.

I think "revisit" is probably the key word.

They won't return to their old vaguely defined plan, that's for sure.

As I said it was a joke, for some reason when I saw the Xbox one plan with the same name I thought of that and it made more sense in my head I guess....

I'm curious what they'll end up with. At face value the idea combined the ability to lend physical media with the convenience of purely digital data. They're practically creating a distribution network with that sort of model. But would anyone want to pay Microsoft for the "privilege" of sharing their games? Even then, if it's low enough it'd still offset the cost of buying a game entirely. How crippled would the feature have to be to offset that convenience and cost, and still have it be something people are interested in using.

Honestly the entire outline of things to happen and come to the Xbox one was more then likely much more cohesive and made more sense before they butchered it with reversing things or just cutting them out to begin with.

Since they mostly talked about family sharing as they were actively working to 180 on their policies, I can't take their original idea seriously. It's easy to claim your service will work in a particular way when you know for a fact that you'll never have to roll it out like that.

Xbox One always-online backlash “surprised” Microsoft, says Penello

Sure it did. ::)
Yeah it's that same kind of surprise like lighting firecrackers and forgetting to throw them and then your fingers blow off.

Xbox One allows you to "play the way you want to," according to infographic

They call those features?

A lot of people who probably tuned out after E3 probably have no idea about the 180, it was hardly effectively communicated.

The strange part is microsoft has stopped all pre-orders even if people wanted them. It would not make up the huge gap right now but still odd. I wonder if they are going to horde them for xmas rush or something,
