however there are tons of people who just play single player games and would love to be able to not have to pay anything additional to use a service they already pay for.

While this is very true. Once people start going down the netflix path the usually like to try other services as well, Which gives you two good options appletv or roku, And at 49-59$ its not a bad deal to get any service you ever wanted. Most likely save the money in electricity cost from running a machine built that is power crazy to a low level streamlined device that used 2watts when in use

dont know about you but i dont give a shit about the difference in power usage. Having to buy another device and making me use another hdmi plug, and pay for another device to use services i pay a monthly fee for is silly.

How ever they can make the money, Just like the supposed Nokia tablet. Which admittedly 5 years ago people just would of had shit bricks in excitement for now....Meh.
