Just calculated how much my free games from PS Plus came out to be, about over 450 USD of free games. Yeah ... awesome as ever.

How many free games did XBox subscribers get so far?

More than that, I think.

They've mentioned Assassin's Creed 2, Halo 3, Dead Rising 2, some kind of tower defence game, and Rainbow 6:something-or-other in the news.

I've had mine for about 2/3 years now.

Only real issue is when their 'free games' are the ones you already bought...or they're for the PSP/PSV.

nothing new. As time goes I bet people will recommend to sit it horizontal anyways. More issues arise when you stand them vertical remember the ps2 days. Scratched disc and other wonky things.  I dont remember much complaints about the ps3 fat vertical though. All of my stuff goes in a rack so horizontal is the only way for me

Well for me everything also has to go horizontal (imagine, it could fall over!), but I know quite a few people that don't have the room for that. Although to use kinect you'd need some extra room anyway, so I guess those people have the room to position it horizontally. Also if precautions are taken then it'll be fine to put consoles vertically without issues, but that's the manufacturers call.

Its pretty common for any AV gear to always sit horizontal. to much problems arise from people going vertical.

They also need room somewhere for the power brick.

Only console I've ever had vertically was my PS2 when the laser started going. Not a huge problem to have them horizontal.

I figure everything else will sit horizontally so might as well keep my console the same way.....

I don't 'get' people who put their systems vertically.
It's stupid as hell, you've got a freaking LASER in that thing.

It's not like you're Anne Frank, living in an extremely small place, and if you are...
Well, you should probably just save your money and get out of gaming.

I like standing them vertically for increased ventilation... no idea if the effect is noticeable or anything... just a weird quirk of mine.

I like the option to put it either way. I've got five consoles, a satellite receiver, a stereo system, and a computer attached to this television, so it's getting crowded.

If they had backwards compatibility this wouldn't be an issue.

I have my consoles are a 'mesh' kind of table.

A hell of a lot safer than standing it vertical.

Almost all new systems of any sort use one giant heatsink for moving the heat away from components and one fan with a case made of plastic, There is zero gain with putting it vertical as the same fan is moving the same amount of air over the heatsink. If the case was metal and was helping in heat transfer like some higher end AV gear then yes vertical could increase the amount of heat transferred away from the case. But with plastic cases nothing would be gained

It would be hilarious to daisy chain XBOne's into each other just to see what the latency would end up being on the end unit.

the latency should be zero at the end. the box does no post processing on video feeds just overlays its own video so its essential a passthrough device
