This is pretty funny: Xbox Fitness is a subscription-based Xbox One app where you work out with famous trainers

lololitas:
And let me guess, you pay on top of your XBL-Gold subscription right?

Following a limited time unlimited access period for Gold members, yes.

I understand the market for this, but they seriously should have considered making it "free" permanently for Live subscribers. I mean.. by-god, but there are a shit tonne of home based fitness programs out there, even for consoles for that matter.

Wii Fit, the marquee title here, had the value of being something you could buy and use occasionally without much sense of guilt like Brain Age or crystal meth. If you're paying a routine subscription however, you might as well pony up the dough for a gym or fitness centre membership.

halfelite:
Its free for a year for xbox live gold members if the content is always updating past that year with new work outs then by all means go and charge for them if no new workouts are added they better not charge. things like insanity/p90 are usually 120$ each for the dvd packages. So I can see where the pricing model comes from as long as new work outs keep coming.

And gym memberships are not cheap average is around 55$ a month with most people saying people only use about 10$ of it the rest is wasted from people not going. So if its monthly is cheap enough it could be a good value, Not to mention a lot of people prefer to work out in the comfort of there home and not at the gym

lololitas:
Really? Here in hungary, the university acknowledge gym is 15€/month, and if you go to others you can get it as cheap as 5€/month with no contracts whatsoever involved. In germany it's usually a 1 year contract with 10-20€/month, but those include trainers and some lessons to get started with. I'd say that's way better than some weird work-outs that get recorded on the side. Personally I get the feeling that microsoft is trying to make the X1 take care of my private life, which i find kind of disturbing.
